Aww how pretty, a little yellow tag

So as a WP, if your first connection doesn't have First class, you don't get the yellow tag? Surely it is the last leg that matters?

I completely agree. Similarly, when you fly domestically on a Dash then connect to a jet with J and Y, you only get a priority sticker rather than a business sticker because "there's no business class on this [the first] flight". As you say, it's completely ridiculous as the passenger isn't collecting their baggage after the first flight, they're collecting after the flight where they're one of 300-odd passengers, including plenty of similar-statused WPs who, by virtue of the fact they endured just one flight instead of two, get business tags. It's devoid of logic.

5 years... I'd get the manager onto that one or at least send in some feedback. That's 5 years too long.

Definitely send feedback.

Initially I thought that there was some valid reason why bags were not tagged First by QF if the first Dom or Intl flight on the itinerary did not offer F. But on a recent trip, CX tagged my bag First class even though the MEL-HKG segment doesn't offer F.

So it seems it's a QF thing...

put simply, CX is a pleasure to fly as a OW status member... free exit rows, a 'welcome' on most flights if gold or above, a blind-eye to excess luggage (even though additional luggage is not a OW benefit except for emeralds), more frequent op-ups than QF, always putting the correct priority tags on bags, effective priority boarding (without fail).

Trying not to take this thread OT but IMHO, CX provides the best overall experience of all airlines I have flown on (particularly as a OWE). I have received 6 international Op Ups on CX versus only 2 international Op Ups on QF (despite seven years as a WP or higher). Always welcomed on board with CX, F bag tags and a good J and F product on long haul routes. Too bad QF and CX are frienemys.

Like a few others here I agree with you on CX, it's hard product and service are great, and they Love OWEs
There is a reason they are my number 1 intl carrier.

BUT

When things go wrong they are nowhere near the levels of QF service for OWE.
CX do not empower their staff to make decisions or do they do anything to even remotely help out when things go pear shaped.
Their service recovery team or lack there of is of epic fail proportions.

Of late as I'm near P1 I've directed some business QF's way, but the J Asia product is so bad compared to CX it's actually rather painful. Hurry up Skybed MKIII, which is not a game changer but rather a game catchuperer.

So anyone know what you're actually supposed to get as a SG? Last time I did this from a Domestic transfer - just got the stupid 'priority' spot on the ticket which seems to count for nothing. The check in agent said I couldn't get a pink business one as class was economy.

Whatabout when you interline to a QF-EK flight?

I've only been given the priority/J tags when checking in at BNE and transiting thru SYD.....even when flying F ex-SYD and holding WP status. Have been told they don't stock the tags at BNE.....this has occurred every year since 2007.

Always get the F tags on CX.
