Back to the Big Apple with a few stops along the way

All seemed well on arrival, through immigration and into the airport and off to the train then the oh cough moment hit me, I realised I had slipped back into my pre Covid ways of travelling, solo and HLO. I had forgotten I agreed to take a checked bag that had some of Mrs&MissM's stuff in it. So it was back to terminal and after a quick discussion with EK staff, who seemed to find it quite amusing that I had forgotten to collect my luggage and one of the female staff seemed to take some interest as to how one could travel for a month with just a cabin sized wheelie bag and a back pack.

I suggested they just take my phone as it was linked to the Airtag in the bag, we could all see the location on the phone and sadly this was not accepted and EK wanted to work with luggage receipt. After about 50 minutes and EK not being able to locate the bag I just asked the chap with me to break the EK rules, after the staff took my phone the bag was found within 10 minutes.

For this trip I have chosen to book accommodation that is just the best fare of the day and works for us, also MissM is now a teenager/ young woman so we need x2 beds the SEA accommodation;
Go to the oyster bar at the Fairmont at 3 for half priced brilliant Vancouver island oysters. Freshly shucked to order from a dozen different varieties!

And, of course, the lapse had nothing at all to do with the tanker-load of booze you had consumed non-stop in the preceding couple of days... o_O😜

Sounds like a reasonable excuse, but I tend not to get on the turps when travelling between countries.
I guess it's fortunate that they didn't ask you to open it while they examined the contents.
Bag examination would have been a none issue, 1 pair of shoes and a couple bottles of shampoo and sun screen that she put in the bag to give it a small amount of weight. I know I was conned, it is the empty shopping bag that I will get to cart across the US/CA.

The jet lag must be kicking in as I have been up since 4 and using the iron to speed up the process of drying singlets, jocks and socks and I am considering getting back on the train to meet Mrs&MissM who are still somewhere over the ocean with a few hours to go.

MissM had found a shop online that was only in the US so it was time to get on the train and bus to make our way to the University District. As shopping center/ malls go this one wasn't too bad.

Unfortunately MissM was not well today and by around 12:30 wanted to go back to the hotel. That left me to head out on a solo adventure and I can normally cover a lot of ground quite quickly and means there are less photos for TRs as I often forget to take photos but can normally rely on borrowing some from MrsM. This when it comes to TRs I often The buses and T1 line is quite easy to use and your tickets last all day and are cheap. The bus is $2.75 (all day) and if you cash to pay onboard the machines does not dispense change so if you let the driver know you only have $5.00 and higher denominations they will normally give you a free ticket.

Have bus ticket and off to the Fremont Troll
