Applied and conditionally approved 16th April and sent supporting documents straight away.

I hadn't heard anything as of yet so I just gave them a call and before I was put through to a CSA they had a recorded message saying that they received higher than expected credit card applications and that they apologise for the delay. The lady I spoke to confirmed that all documents were received although it's generally taking approximately 2 weeks for the assessment and confirmation to be done. For anyone else it might be worth calling through just in case that puts a priority on the application (not sure but can't hurt) as she said I should expect to have it confirmed by Wednesday.

I did get a confirmation on Wednesday evening so they stuck to the timeline they gave on Monday. Advised I should receive card in 5-10 days.

Applied online and was conditionally approved for the 50k plat card. Sent in the required documentation and am waiting - will probably follow it up next week if I don't hear anything by then.

You do need to follow up with bankwest and then do it again. From my experience they are hopeless.

Applied online but was only approved for a measly 5k credit limit, might be too many hits on the file lately. Just wondering if anyone had experience upping the limit (and card status) later on, what is the earliest i could request it from them as an existing customer without going through all the hoopla of supplying payslips and another hit to credit file? I intend to keep their platinum only for their 0% forex fees.

I had this issue with NAB, asked them to review my application and they bumped it up. It's risky but might be worth giving it a shot to ensure the higher bonus points?

I suspect that a request to up the limit may result on another hit to the credit file.

thought about it, but decided to give it up... and also didnt want to attract unnecessary attention as i quite frequently use their qf debit card ;)

so decided to sit it out for now, the question is for how long? 6 months, 9 months?

Yep. They approved me for 5k online ie. Not enough for platinum. I rang and spoke to agent who managed to up it to the minimum for platinum as I said I'd cancel for anything other than platinum.

Rang them 2 hrs ago, recieved an email saying approved. :)

Edit: Applied online last weekend.

Am getting the family in on this to benefit from multiples of 50k QFF sign up bonuses. What's the minimum limit you need for eligibility to upgrade to the World in due course?

I think the PDS has 18k, mine was allowed a little lower than that.

Rang today, they said they have received the docs but it is in a queue waiting to be processed. With the higher number of applications and the recent public holidays there is going to be a longer queue so I am told - I will follow up in about a week from now if I don't hear anything. They said when I go into online banking, when it does get approved it will show in there automatically so here's hoping.

Once I get my 50K points under this offer, I'll look at the World card. They told me I could have it, but best to wait till the 50K are hatched. I had a quick look yesterday on their website, but didn't see reference to a World card.

May I ask what your limit may be?

Been approved for 12k, so would need to wait a while (limit wise) to get the black.

My limit is 12K too and I have the Black, and on the chat line they said I'd qualify for the World. Have you been told something different for a 12K limit?

Never asked, I thought it was $14k+

Will totally ask them once I have my points also :)

From what I've read it's $12k+

I only went minimum limit for this application because my credit score has been hammered lately with so many applications (Citi the only one turning me down) but after 6-ish months I'll call them to see if I could bump the limit up and take the Black.

I got approved pending documentation on 14 April and sent my payslips the same day. I was contacted on Wednesday regarding an anomaly which was resolved that day and I got the welcome email / sms today saying I'm approved for $8k which I'm happy with give I have about $60k in card limits waiting on various points to clear. The card is due to arrive within 10 days. I'll use this as my go to O/S card for 11 months before reverting to 28 degrees.

Why would you revert to 28deg which pays no points?
