World card is working perfectly. 1 4 1 QF earn and no foreign FX fee. Just have come back from using it in SEA and EU without a hitch. The Android app is excellent and showed the pre-auth the moment we swiped the card. This has become my go to card.

World MC update:

The good: Just applied for my first CL increase ... took about 1 min over the phone. 3 or 4 questions asked. Tick, done.
(I still love their Android app)

The I'm-not-sure: dropped some QF fares on the card. But have now realised that even though the cards earns at $1 = 1QF point, I can't seem to find reference to the usual Qf point kicker when spending on QF products like other cards do.

The bad: If your card gets frozen due to suspicious activity you get a TXT msg and are asked to call a number. The TXT only supplies the 13 number on the back of the card and doesn't take into account you could be international nor does it give you a direct fraud number. So the wait time cane be long (and expensive if having to call from OS on a roaming mobile).

But this is still our go-to card (except if the QF double points doesn't happen on QF services then I'll use another card e.g Disco Amex).

There are no bonus partners on this card, so QF earns 1pt/$ like everyone else.

Thanks for the confirmation. Rrrrrrrr to Bankwest. That little feature would have made this one very awesome card IMHO. Having said that it will still get 75% of my personal spend.

I think it's a "next to awesome card". Depending on how much you spend overseas, either actual or online, you can save a small fortune. I recently bought two business class tickets from Brisbane to UK. After I'd bought them, even though they were billed in AUD, I found out they were billed overseas. I would've paid over $430 in transaction fees with almost any other card.

And I think the insurance that comes with the card seems not too bad either.

What I haven't tried is ATO on it. I'm thinking abut giving it a small go and see what happens.

Did you end up giving it a go? I'm thinking about the Platinum card with the current bonus (and then hopefully do the free upgrade to the World card) and this will tip me into going for it!

does anyone remember the minimum cr limit to qualify for the world MC?

We just upgraded a limit to $11,500 only today while online.

We have. Waiting for statement to issue as we got it at the beginning of a cycle for maximum benefit (all out cards are tiered with rolling dates to allow large purchases and maximum interest free periods). We've also dropped another bill on the silver doughnut platinum card as it was still working last cycle.

I have just activated my new card with 50K miles and .75 points per $.

If I upgrade to World card, they have confirmed it is free ( as I have a $12K limit)

I tried a link to the Bankwest WORLD M/C, but it was extinct. Does anyone have a link to an extant site please? I'd like to check if as it's a newbie card I'd get 1:1.

bankwest.com.au/world

But be careful, when I applied for mine last week they told me to wait until the 50k points credit (up to 4-5 months) before I apply for an upgrade; if I did it straight away it wouldn't pick it up as an eligible product any more.

Yes, thanks that had occurred to me so I will be waiting. I don't count the QF chickens until they are hatched in my QF account.

I've just received approval for my card. So the consensus is to wait until the 50k bonus points go through. Is a minimum limit of 12k required?

What is the criteria for upgrading to the World card? The links posted earlier all redirect to the general credit card pages now.

Read the platinum card 50k bonus rules:

- spend $2.5k+ within 1st 3 months

- Bonus points should arrive in month 4 (just after 3 months waiting).

- Current caedholders who transfer or upgrade = no points.

Question:

I've had the platinum card for just over 1 month now, where as partner has had it many moons.

Do points somehow (as in new) transfer onto / into the same transaction as the savings account?

I ask this as I've not been creditex 1,400 ish points (closing balance qff on statement), nor has my partner been credited points from the actual credit card since Feb qff points sweep.

Partner: transaction account sweeps every month, cc sweep not since Feb.

Myself: again, transaction sweeps yes while 1st cc bill not sweeped.

Or am I dreaming, that it will be done every 6 months or so?
