getting off the plane today I noticed an old fella who had a black q bag tag. I'd not seen one of these before.. are they CL or something like that?

I need some spare cash so I was thinking of selling my never used Platinum luggage tags. I wonder what they would be worth!

Is there any point keeping them for a future date where they would be worth way much more as collector items?

By the way does Qantas still handout luggage tags to Platinums complimentary or does one have to pay for them?

eBay auctions seem to get around that price, plus Qantas sells them for that price anyway. Stupid people will think a Platinum tag equals Platinum luggage.

I don't think Qantas gives them out freely. If you lose one they may replace it, but I doubt they'll believe you keep losing it.

I can only see them being worth more one day if the system evolves again and they no longer work. I suspect we're a long way from that possibility.




Can just imagine a NB turning up at checkin with 2 x 32 kg bags with WP qtags & when charged excess saying "but it said on ebay.......".

I reckon people think that way, but don’t browse eBay that often anyway so wouldn’t know what they say.

Wow this is kinda cool. When i got my welcome pack to WP in Feb this year i got the new bag tags which were in the platinum welcome cardboard pack, and those bag tags were black!!! Guess someone messed up in packaging as now i have CL tags for being WP! Wonder if a lot of those poeple you saw with them ahd the same mistake happen! haha
