Ok so Sunday I flew the required flight how long does it take to recognize and change status for another year. Not that I need it as sitting 1180 status credits and year ends December
Per the FAQ and timeline posted it will be within the month of membership anniversary will be updated to reflect the extra year. So for you it will be late in December. Christmas gift. Since you don't need it though.....

I think the details indicated about a week(?) before your membership year ends.

According to the status support page it will be reflected late December

I flew 2 eligible flights in Feb. Have an August anniversary. I know it's not going to update for a while yet... but it would have been nice if they were able to update the expiry on digital cards to reflect the added year, after the required flight is flown. It's not like there's any undoing of that!

Cheers,
Matt.

I think it’s deliberate. If people haven’t been paying attention they might go and do the flying to retain status without this offer even though they don’t need to.

was thinking that too... this, and those who do the extra SCs just in case

I have done my flight so I will retain SG, so no rush to try to get back to WP till at least next membership year, maybe the one after that.

I can just do that flying next membership year. It’s not going to encourage me to bring forward to this membership year flying I’d intend to do next membership year but it’s not going to discourage me from doing flying this membership year that I would have wanted to do this membership year anyway.

Que?!!

Think Manuel....;)
Oh, of course. 🤣

Que meaning ‘what’ in Spanish? A statement/question too convoluted/difficult for Manuel to understand. Response being ‘que’?

Thank you Mr Fawlty. 🤭

We're actively looking into booking a trip to GC later in the year. Mrs AS status ends this month and my daughter's end of April. It's funny to think that they've been sitting at their current level of status from the double SC offer back in 2018.

My membership year ends on 30/6. It seems like I am unlikely to travel for either work or holiday before then. Neither work or SHMBO wants to take the risk of being stuck interstate.

As WP, keen on taking advantage of the status extension. Just wanted to clarify, is the cheapest method to book a random classic award to somewhere later this year? Once my membership renews, do I actually have to take this trip? Does cancelling the award forfeit your status?

Thanks.

Isn't it a case you just need to take the trip before the end of the Calendar year? Book before your membership renewal, receive the benefits and surely by December a quick flight to somewhere has to be risk free. We are all doing this for 2022 in reality. Although next April (for me) I'm still unlikely to be getting the full benefit.

Depending which state you are in there are some QF flights that are intrastate (i.e. stay in the same state). You may wish to consider doing one of those.

Has any one had their status confirmed with the current rules?
Eg one flight and maintain.
I think it starts late March

When would my status be extended?
