Book a flight and Extend Current status to 2022

Has any one had their status confirmed with the current rules?
Eg one flight and maintain.
I think it must happen on anniversary date. MrP has almost requalified anyway and end of year is April 30 and has flown several flights but his profile still says he needs another 40 status credits to retain. He will get those this week anyway.

Has anyone with a 31/03 date received the extension yet? I booked my flight in February and took it earlier this month, but it's well into "late March" and the extension has still not appeared. Points and SCs appeared same day, so the flight has definitely registered.

You will be extended. No need to stress.

Like you, I too have a 31/3 extension date, I also booked in February and flew earlier in March, and know my flight registered, but also do not yet have the extension. Electronic membership card still showing expiry March 2021. Only a couple more days to wait to see what happens next.

I'm pleased to have the extension, but honestly it won't be of much use to me unless I can travel overseas before 31 March 2022, which I am not currently feeling very hopeful about. I took advantage of the current DSC offer to book flights to Qld in June to see the family - and 12 hours later, Brisbane is in lockdown and Qld Premier is saying get used to it, it's the new way of life. So I am pretty reluctant to be booking too many other domestic flights. All of which means I'm likely to start member year 1 Apr 2022 - when I might actually be able to do some more usual flying - as a LTG. First time I won't have been WP or P1 for 13 years . So I really hope that Qantas comes up with some other ways to support status.

I'm taking the risk to visit family and friends domestically to travel occasionally.

However the lack of international flights at the moment is a problem. My main reason for status and the main way I earn status credits is from international travel. Discount economy flights that earn 10 SC standard aren't going to get me very far even with double credits.

I'm currently on SG but hoping to get back to WP.

If QF does a DSC promo for international and if I do a return J trip to LHR early in my membership year I'd get most of the benefits of SG anyway for that trip (even if I have dropped back to PS) which would get me at least 2 of the 4 flight segments and all of the SC needed to get back to SG and most of the way back to WP.

The problem for QF is if they do a blanket extension of status again it discourages people like me from booking extra trips that I wouldn't have otherwise done. However if international is off the agenda till well into next year they may not have much choice if they want to retain the loyalty of international travellers for when international travel resumes.

Agree. Ours is end of April. Won't be going overseas until July 2022 unless something happens with work but unlikely. So pretty much useless.

I apologise if this has been explained previously, but in order to activate this status extension, does my booking need to be totally new, or can I use a credit? I have a credit that I actually bought as a gift certificate (it's not from cancelled flights), so I haven't really "made a booking" as per the T&C's, but I understand the way Qantas credits work is they are actually a booking that's sort of in suspended animation.

So long as you bought that gift voucher on the 23 November 2020 or later you should be able to use that. Otherwise do a brand new booking.

Depending on the value of your gift voucher one option would be to use it for one direction and a new booking for the other. You only need one new one way flight. QANTAS doesn't charge a premium for one way bookings for domestic versus booking return.

I should add that if there are change fees per passenger per booking if you need to change your bookings then doing separate bookings will lead to more change fees.

By way of update. Logged in this morning (1 April) and my WP status has been extended for 12 months. I was greeted by the banner of congratulations. I also had a "Future Bookings" line appear in my account activity on 30 March. It was zero SCs and points, but I assume this was the system flagging I had made the necessary booking to be extended.

Well I should have qualified for the status credit rollover (March membership year) but my status credits are currently showing as "zero". Has anyone else's rollover status credits posted yet?

No Status Support rollover here. The status rollover page state that the rollover will be applied "early April" for those with new membership starting 1st of April. I wouldn't worry for another week.

I got the 100SC Points plus club rollover however.

Mine haven't posted yet either, but I recall the terms saying "by Mid-April" (or similar wording)

If it's anything like the Points Club rollover you may be waiting for a couple of months...

Edit: just saw @ChrisMars mention of PC, maybe they've fixed it

Husband has been extended. No additional status credits yet.
I will probable do the token flight to maintain my status but....I don't think I will have any flights in the next twelve months to maintain correctly .

I was flying back from Perth but Perth has locked me out.

The flight was cancelled and put on a new flight but I now can't access the booking online, so I have to waste mine and Qantas time to get my flight cancelled.

Log into the flight and get this.
