Booked under V class yesterday

No wonder Red Roo has remained silent. V fares purchased before 18 Feb will be classed as Flexible Economy for Points/SCs earn, but classed as Discount Economy for Upgrade requests.

If I need to upgrade, I'm going to try to use the re-issue method to get them as M class first, but what a nuisance.

Edit: hang on, the last paragraph indicates that bookings purchased prior to 18 Feb will earn and upgrade at current Flexi Saver rates, however, that's not what has been reported above.

What has been reported above is the IT stuff uo - the last paragraph is what is expected to happen. Save the PDF ready to argue your point.

At last, some consistency...

... in QF's inconsistency!!

Definitely need Red Roo to clarify: do these earn/process on booking date or travel date?

Regards,

BD

I flew yesterday Melbourne Perth on a V fare that was ticketed last week and points and credits have been credited
at the Discount economy rate!
Another Inhancement!!

RedRoo where are you!? :)

This could be a mini-disaster waiting to happen, as I would imagine there would be a lot of people especially corporate flyers that are booked on Pre-18th Feb 'Flex' fares that will be calling up/emailing/tweeting to get their correct points/SC's.

As an update I have pm'd Red Roo, they are reviewing and will get back to us soon.

Had the same issue with one of my flights yesterday, flexi posted as discount. Called QF, got an apology with promise to fix it and also a guarantee ALL flexi V bookings made before the 18th will be given the proper amount of points and SCs.

I had the same issue with a points upgrade to business on a flex ticket booked before 18th today.

they took the points as if I'd booked discount economy.

I rang up and got the points that they overtook credited back pretty easy.

Sounds like I will have to keep an eye on the points and SC earn now too

Let's hope they get this fixed. I've got over a dozen V class bookings, and I don't want to be ringing up every time to get things sorted out.

Unfortunately you (and I) will probably have to call every time. As told by QF the system can't recognise V as flexi anymore so each booking will have to be amended separately.
I guess you can call to amend a few bookings at once and not waste your time doing it one by one after every flight.

Had a pre-18 Feb booked V Class fare adjusted automatically today (SC and points) for a flight posting as discount Y yesterday. So as long as this happens phone call may not be needed after all.

That is great news.

1 out of 2 major issues potentially with a solution. Now for them to fix the proper recognition of the fare for the number of points required for Uogarde requests.

I went to upgrade a booking made yesterday on a pre Feb 18 V class fare online and it was asking for twice as many points as it should be. A call to the platinum line ( HBT) and they identified the issue but advised they had to request a manual upgrade be done in SYD.
I am happy they knew what the problem was and had a solution but I booked flights that had plenty of U class available - I won't be so happy if they are no longer there when SYD get around to doing it manually in a few day time. The platinum call centre (a helpful lady named Synthia) was confident I would receive the correct SC but like everyone else I'm sceptical.

If you have the points, I'd just book the upgrade and then request the refund of points. Someone above has already indicated they were given the refund of points. At least that way, you won't miss out on upgrade due to diminishing availability.

sigh

as predicted they only gave me points and status credits for discount economy....

...guess another phone call

might as well wait until after my next flight tomorrow which was also booked pre Feb 18 as Flex, no doubt they will rip me off with that one too....

Or wait for the automatic adjustment as mentioned a few posts up

I did try but the link won't work since I spoke to them on the phone 2 days ago
