Boris Johnson diagnosed with COVID-19

I think that married with such stats as the Prince, etc, it just goes to show how the stats are bullshit. Only a select group are being tested.

How many other UK cabinet members will have COVID-19

Bundy, who cares? It is just an indication that the testing of plods is not happenning.

Worldwide the stats on public figures or celebrities is way higher than any basic norm. IMHO this just points to the fact that all "cases" numbers are pure bollocks.

He's been out and about - comes with the job.

Agreed it is not an exact science, and the testing measures are not simple - basic competency can skew the result either way. But for the average public, all they hear is "cases' which are actually "persons whose test result was positive'. The lies and inaccuracies in this thing are breathtaking.

Here in Australia "we" as in the medical authorities, keep using these small percentage of tested cases as the real number. Which is absolute b/s. A close friend of mine who is a GP could not even get tested even though he became quite sick - because he had not "travelled internationally"

No doubt about it, they wouldn't...

Also he refused to accept "social distancing" was necessary until recently.

But @juddles it is worse than you even think.
Quite a few reports that the initial Chinese test was getting a high rate of false positive tests ranging from 20-80% in asymptomatic patients.
Now a newer Chinese test apparently only picks up 30% of those that are positive-have posted the links somewhere in all these Covid threads.

So how can we really be sure of the number of cases.

As for testing Australia now has nearly the highest number of tests per 100000 population.
It also appears China is now doing very little testing.

Then there is the problem of supply of test kits which for a while was not enough to do testing on all.Now even though more test kits there are not enough facilities to test everyone.

So testing initially was of the groups at highest risk of infection.Just think of the Ruby Princess-2700 passengers plus all their contacts really did need to be found and tested Many thousands of tests. That is why little testing of low risk cases.

And even in high risk groups the positive rate is under 2%.

Plenty of countries have given up on testing all but the critically ill. It's basically if you get flu symptoms, isolate yourself.

Well he did want to test the herd immunity approach so taking one for the team :)

Also he refused to accept "social distancing" was necessary until recently.

So essentially he's been a superspreader by refusing to follow medical advice, what a great role model.

Hmm so some not testing much, some only testing clear suspects, some tests give heaps of false positives and some gives heaps of false negative, lots of people never tested (deliberately) and won't be tested.

Guess that summarises any figures we get from anyone are merely indicative of something that may not be relevant to any other figures unless you know the exact specifics (which are not readily evident to the layman).

Reports are he is not in a ventilator.

I guess shaking hands is part of what makes him tick.

Just wondering something like malaria tablets haven’t been proven to work?
I guess they are being overly cautious as it would be a big shock if Boris were to die.
