Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones

Ok then, if someone was to want to purchase a pair of the Shure in-ears and was travelling to the US and then the UK, where would you suggest purchasing for
A) the cheapest option?
b) In Australia to use SYD-LAX?

I bought my SE530s from an eBay seller from the USA. Was cheaper than the street prices in Hong Kong and cheaper than my industry contact could manage at this time.

Of course you can save some more if you can arrange for purchase in the USA. But postage was not huge.

In Australia, Jands is the master distributor for Shure products. If you know someone who works in sales for one of their resellers, then ask them to check the run-out list as Jands sometimes include them for quick sale. I picked up some E3s for my son that way last year.

If you contact some of the eBay sellers, they may be willing to do something for yuou re pick-up of US address shipping. My first purchase f e3's was 3 sets delivered to a US address of a work colleague and I collected a week later when on a business trip. But had to phone them to purchase that way otherwise they generally want to deliver to the eBay/Paypal registered address to ensure their fraud protection is preserved.

I have come in a little late for this, but if it helps, there are a number of US cities that have Bose Stores. I oicked up a great bargain iPod Dock from the Bose Store last year at the Las Vegas Premium Outlets. Much cheaper than EBay or other stores. It is senseless to pay Australian prices for Bose products if you can get them from the US.
I am going to Hawaii again and will checkout the Bose Store there at Ala Moana for the headphones. I currently have Plantronics HP which are bluetooth and very good as I can also use them for handsfree on my phone, but are not noise cancelling.
I do believe though that Bose do not make bluetooth noise cancelling HPhones.
I really like my music and movies to have good sound when flying, so NC would be the way to go. I expect that you could get Bose HP for under $US300 at their outlets.

I have buggered the cord on my QC15's so I get no sound at all just the noise canceling effect.

Does anyone know how much Bose are going to rip me off here to replace the QC 15 plug in lead, which I believe is all one unit?

Spare parts online somewhere cheap I hope.

I'd just send the headphones complete with chord back to Bose in Sydney. I had a problem with my QC3's which were well out of warranty. I received a replacement pair within a week....no charge!

My QC2 have been shedding small black flecks of padding material from the earcup and now also the headband. I replaced the padded earcups with a kit from Bose some months ago however I have now discovered that Bose do not have a kit for the headband - do not despair as there is a way forward. I am currently in the USA and visited a Bose store and was advised that I could exchange my QC2 to QC15 for US$99 - Bose accept responsibility for selling a faulty product - no brainer and the deal was done - will be interesting to see how these perform compared to the old ones.

about replacement earpads, price quoted was $89 for the earpads.

Said thank you very much and moved onto ebay for $20.

BOSE in San Francisco had their QC15s for $299 (no sales tax). Unfortunately for me, didn't take up the offer, knowing (at the time) that could still order through Amazon. Of course, now that window has been slammed shut...:evil:

Of course the problem with the HD555s are they are not noise cancelling, so your post is somewhat off topic, continuing in that vein however, I take it you will self upgrade them to 595's in your search for more dynamic range?

I am still not convinced by my Sennheser MM550X which are noise cancelling and bluetooth.

Agreed. I have the QC15 and love them, but would really like a bluetooth adaptor so I can listen to Pandora through my computer without being tethered to the desk. Anyone know of a good adpator that runs on batteries?

Have you checked out the Nokia BH-111 (just ditch the included headphones and plug the Bose in).

I love the sennheise PXC 450s. Noise cancelling but wired. I'd like to try the Bose to see if they match up. Sennheiser tend to make decent headsets but I wouldn't use bluetooth audio.
