It's meant to be raining on friday night... might make it a bit wet for walking..
Also, I know there are a few people who will be in Auckland on thursday night, if people are interested in meeting for drinks or dinner, PM me :)

Hi all.

I arrived in Auckland late on Saturday night to finalise arrangements for the weekend. I was only going to be here for 2 days before heading home prior to flying to AKL on Friday.

I was heading to a friend's place in my rental car when I stopped and purchased a snack. I carefully read the ingredient list, however I ended up having a very severe allergic reaction. I have been released from hospital tonight. (against medical advice) My telephones and laptop/iPad were in my rental car which had been taken to the police station. This has had me out of contact for several days. I have received many emails and text messages from not just AFF members, but also my +1, son and PA. I was not, nor would I be rude and ignore people.

Lunch is all completely on, as is steak night. I will be at both, however I am very battered and bruised.

I am very sorry but I can not confirm transfers or winery until at least late tomorrow afternoon. I know some of you are arriving tomorrow and so I would really appreciate you arranging your own transfers. I just don't want to have anyone waiting at the airport. The company I have an account with, is Transfers New Zealand. You can look this up online.

I'm not in a position to assist with this as I'm feeling completely shattered. I think every single vein in my body has had a line in it and I have never felt so terrible. I may actually fly home on Saturday afternoon after lunch, depending on how quickly I recuperate.

I apologise for any inconvenience caused. Im really sorry for this last minute notice. I have my PA arriving from the USA late tomorrow and I will do my best to get on top of things as soon as possible.

I am sure I represent us all when we wish you well.

For those of you now wondering what to do for transfers, as BR indicated, there is Transfers New Zealand, who can be phoned on +64 9 379 7111, or just take a taxi. by using www.taxi.co.nz, there is the advantage of a fixed price, which may appeal to some. The cheap option is taking the Bus http://www.airbus.co.nz/, which is $26 NZD return, and drops you 2 minutes walk from the hilton, and about 10 from the pullman, crowne and sofitel.

Bossreggie - please take care and don't worry about any of the arrangements. If there is anything I can do to assist please let me know.

Be sure to rest and I'm sure everyone will join me in wishing you a speedy recovery so you will be up to joining us in the festivities.

Hope you get better Boss

Must be something about Auckland , one of my managers signed himself out of hospital as well!

I just booked the transfer online for friday and back on sunday with transfers NZ and left a note as to the fact you may try and book it as well so they needed to check to make sure there wasnt a double booking

See you friday. Hope you get better sooner rather than later

Get well soon Boss. I will follow the advice above and arrange my own transfers. See you friday evening.

Hi Boss,

We are both very sorry to hear of the ordeal you have been through.

We have just checked into the Hilton using the airbus transfer from the airport (which I can highly recommend if you are able to make the walk from the ferry terminal)

Look forward to seeing you all on Friday night, if you are up to it Boss.

BR,
Hope you are feeling better. If you want to cancel the wine tour on Sun, I'm fine with that. I'm sure the AFFers in town can entertain themselves on Sunday.

BR,

Hope you have a speedy recovery, after what sounds like something of an ordeal.

See you on the weekend, but remember your health is more important!

Sorry to hear your news get well soon
No probs for me. I am looked after in the transfers dep.
Keep in touch. I will be in town Friday after lunch. If you need a hand with anything.
( also have my own wheels while in AKL)
Ciao.

bossreggie, sorry to hear of your episode and hope you continue to gain strength before the big weekend.

Sorry to hear bossreggie, here's to a speedy recovery!

I am not 100% sure but I think you transferred money for the transfers. If so.. Please book with Transfers New Zealand and they will charge my account.

If that doesn't work, I will eft the money to you.

I am feeling absolutely terrible.

This weekend was about fun, getting together and having a great time.

Some of you also know that it is about my beautiful "niece" (actually, cousins daughter who called me Uncle Shaun)

Tomorrow would have been her 13th birthday. If you are on my Facebook, my display pic is Debbie (Jade's Mum) and I.

We WILL have a great weekend... I'm probably not going to be my usual self, however I will not let people down.

If ANYONE has been put out by my being unable to confirm details etc... Please PM or email me... I will do what I can to ensure everything is sorted.
I may fly home on Saturday night however I am hoping all will be OK for the weekend.

Please all be assured that the lunch has been paid for and NOTHING will affect that. I will be in AKL tomorrow afternoon so if anyone wishes to catch up please let me know.

I was going to mention this at the lunch but I paid cash for the lunch and all $$ received I am putting toward Jade's old school.

I have a strong policy of giving and it is something I won't ever give up.

Lets make this weekend AMAZING....... I promise to do my best not to be a downer.... Drs coming.... Please bring antibiotics!

I know I will not be 100%.... But I think my 60% is most people's 100%!! Lol.

The last thing I'd ever want to do is to let people down.

Roll on the weekend!!

Sorry to hear Boss, sounds like you havent had a good run of luck lately.

Hope your on the mend and your feeling ok for the weekend, likewise have zero issues if you need to cancel anything...

Im flying over in about 12 hours, am staying in the Viaduct area if anyone wants to catch up, would be a late drink as my flight lands at 21:10, so would be at the hotel at 22-22:30

Ill organise transfers etc when i get up in the morning, hope your feeling a bit better tomorrow when you wake up.

Fuzz

It will be a great lunch, and I'm hoping you'll recuperate well in time. See you on Sat!

A long 2 minutes walk! I'd say closer to 5-10 minutes IIRC ;) Unless I got off at the wrong stop!

Hope you're feeling better for the weekend BR, everyone else enjoy and sending greetings to you all from miserable wet London!!

VIA PM please people.
Let's not clutter up the thread.

With regard to this post:

The GM from the Hilton has asked "to get surnames of those staying with us if possible so I can make sure we show good hospitality!"

If everyone who is staying at the Hilton could please PM me your real names I will send him a list.
Booking reference would probably be useful also.
