CSM on QF618 MEL-BNE yesterday.. In fact all the cabin crew were great but we appreciated the CSM smuggling us some J wine into Y :)

Corne looking after the J cabin Sydney to Christchurch on Sunday. Was a very light J load but she didn't stop looking after the passengers and the flight deck (important to keep the pilots well fed and she took the security issues seriously.

And Chris and Chevaun looking after the J cabin MEL-SYD on the weekend on a very full flight were also terrific.

So on QF 598 paul had his hands full with what looked like a full J cabin.
However the FAs serving us in Y all called us by name so obviously he was on the ball.

But I really want to congratulate the woman in charge of the lounges in PER.A group of QLD firies returning home. Most I believe got invited to the QP and those in more formal uniform were in the J lounge.
Nice recognition Qantas.

And I had Corne on the return CHC-SYD. Early flight with much fuller J cabin. She again did well, even admonishing another staff member for allowing a Y pax into the J bathroom when she was otherwise occupied. The CSM left her to do pretty much everything.

Not quite FAs, but need to acknowledge Joseph in the SYD domestic J lounge - a very lovely and helpful gentleman. And Tracey at the bar in the MEL domestic J lounge. Remembered me from a few days prior, had a few chats and she was generally engaging and efficient with everyone. Really impressed with the J lounges of late and will be leaving some general feedback

Had a fabulous crew on QF881 OOL-MEL last Saturday. I was so impressed I made a point to go to the CSM prior to top of descent and tell her I thought they were all wonderful and were fantastic in handling turning a late inbound, greeting everyone personally on boarding (and with little touches, like to kids-and a LOT of kids out of OOL- "Oh you've got the window today! lucky you!" plus being sweet with some UM's who boarded last "Now I need you to keep an eye on the guys down the back - they can be a bit naughty!") and so on. Full J cabin, service was friendly from both Cath S and Travey C - including handling 3 kids in a family in row 2 absolutely appropriately (and things like politely asking mum if it was OK to offer juice/soft drink/snacks etc) and appropriate chat with the rest of us.

So anyway I made a point to go to Cath (CSM) prior to descent but at a quiet time and just make note that I was so impressed and that if it was OK with her I wanted to email the P1 team with some positive feedback and maybe if I could get their names to include. She was so happy to give me her card and details and expressed really genuine pleasure to have the positive feedback and said "Even if you don't contact the company I'm so delighted you've come to let me know personally. I really appreciate it" - turns out her hubby (Michael) is also a CSM and they clearly love their jobs. Well, I got back to my row 1 seat to find that sneaky Tracey had managed to top up my wine and water without me noticing while I was passing on my compliment. That's service!

I'm emailing P1 now :D (first time in HEAPS of flights I've ever felt a desire or need to single out a crew in this way)

Also wanted to mention QF139 SYD-CHC over the weekend.

The whole crew were jovial and seemed to be enjoying their jobs for a change, even in Y cabin.

It made the service seem more genuine than some of the international J I've been on recently.

A belated shoutout to Jason operating the JQ25 SYDCNS on 31st Jan for his great service and Nicole (I think that was here name) working the J cabin on the CNSSYD QF923 on the same day. Great service from both FA's, in particular Nicole who appeared to be operating her first J cabin service but handled it well with lots of bumps on the flight creating a challenge.

Im a bit late to the party but had a fabulous crew member in J on QF30 HKG-MEL a few weeks ago - I think her name was Tanya. Addressed by name every interaction and she seemed to really enjoy her job.
Genuinely friendly, very professional and nothing was too much trouble. Encouraged me to try various dishes for dinner even though I had had a full meal in the Pier F lounge a few hours before the flight. She was so friendly I was wondering if she was flirting with me - she said 'do I know you from somewhere? You look so familiar'. Compared with the distant robotic CX service on this route (I usually fly CX) it was great to have someone so warm and genuine.
Sent feedback to QF.

Been flying other airlines of late but did want to acknowledge a great bit of service on QF the other day. Rodney the CSM on a short Melbourne to Canberra flight, early afternoon. I was flying economy. There were only 3 business passengers and none of them wanted to eat the lunch on offer. Rather than just take it easy on the 50 minute flight, Rodney made a point of then coming back to the Y cabin and acknowledging me as. P1. And asked if there was anything he could do. I asked for a glass of red wine. He then went on to another half dozen passengers to greet and make a similar offer, checking the manifest / iPad for details. Very impressed.

As an extra nice touch, he smuggled me the near full bottle of red to take home.

There's actually quite a few flights now but i haven't acknowledged how fantastic Natasha is on the regular MEL-HBA-MEL flights (QF1500-QF1507)!

Have had her as one of the FAs for at least 6 times already. Always friendly and professional!

Great J cabin crew on QF27 last Friday ('nose' section of 747); Wendy and other lady who I didn't see her name, but a very effervescent personality! Also Troy the CSM was one of the better ones I've struck recently - genuinely engaging and I never saw him peeking a the iPad before he addressed various pax. :)

QF 421 SYD-MEL 19/03/16 - Robyn had a lovely, professional demeanour. She was a very friendly person to talk to. Also a shout out to Tim (I think? I didn't clearly catch the name tag) who always had a smile on during service.

Martin the FA on QF1 SYD-DXB leg was something special. I rarely mention FAs in F because service is expected to be of the highest level but every now and then comes someone who goes above and beyond to make pax feel well looked after.
Martin is a HUGE asset to QF because people like him make the difference when pax consider which airline to choose for their next travel.

I was absolutely delighted to have CSM Kirsten on my QF172 WLG-MEL flight yesterday. She made a point of bringing me headphones (which I did not need) as well as offering a glass of "something from business class".

In unrelated news, it seems QF172 ran out of champagne.

So was your special meal loaded and served without incident?

The Thai J cabin crew on JQ30 Bkk/Melb 18Mar16 were terrific. Mrs Oscarq sneezed & without comment tissues were on her tray table in a blink. Breakfast offered politely as each passenger woke nearing Melb. Love to see this service on all QF flights.

The walk through Y to acknowledge status pax is fairly regular, but I notice it varies by CSM. I have a number of regular CSMs for my flights, some of them will always do the walk to Y regardless of the number of J pax and others will never do it.

I've had a recent entertaining experience of a CSM, with whom I've had detailed discussions including the building of his home, give me a look along the lines of "what are you doing in row 4". I completely understand the look, I was travelling incognito on my AA number.

Not FAs, but big hat tip to the staff in the Mackay QP for going above and beyond finding out an approximate boarding time for this poor delayed, confused JQ pax at 4:47 on 22/03.

Found out the state of the inbound aircraft (wheelchairs) and outgoing pax (more wheelchairs) as well as an approximate turnaround time from the JQ ground staff. Not getting home any quicker, but I know I have time for an extra glass of wine. :)
