Was there in March 2014 was lovely blue sky day but had snow on the hoodoos and was 2 degrees outside...very pretty.
A tip if doing a few of the National Parks is to buy a yearly pass at the first one for about $80, otherwise each park is around $20 -$25 per car for 7 days.
Good for the purchaser and one other signatory...for the whole carload of people with them...not linked to a specific rental car.
I did about 8 parks on my visit...most of them in the 4 corners area.
Some attractions are State Parks, National Monuments or Indian Land...it doesn't work at these places.
I'm lucky to have been to Bryce Canyon in both Summer and Winter. Take your walking boots for it's an easy matter to get right down into the canyon in 20-30 mins in summer. My first visit there was in Summer and in the Visitor Centre I saw the photos of it in Winter, with all the snow around and I was determined to return one day in Winter. I had the chance last January and loved it, in terms of photographic opportunities. The only downside is that most of the trails down into the canyon are closed in Winter due to them being covered in snow and ice. One trail was open but it had a fair covering of icy snow, so I went back into Bryce and bought some crampons for my boots and that gave me the confidence to walk down part way down into the canyon. I stayed at the Best Western at Bryce, a large modern hotel, though it was very quiet in January.
