Does OGR have a high number of cycles or something? She is something of a spring chicken compared to some of her sisters.

Off topic- but I am sure that these international 767's would be a better product on the PER red eye services where you don't have the 330's, as it at least may be something vaguely similar (50 inches in Dreamtime compared to 38 in Millennium) to what DJ offer on their 330's (I.e it is great the 747 is back, but realistically the Skybed would suit QF652,568,648 more than 581/582 IMO.

Yes but they run them daytime when they would otherwise be parked in syd, they don't have the availability to run them on the late nught/red eyes. Similar issue with the dreamtime 763s.

... as they are required for international services overnight etc.

I don't know about that. The points update newsletter I received today referred to a 767-800.

I think you are dreaming again :!:

I was not clear.

What I really meant to say was that someone is dreaming when talking about a 767-800.

How many routes use the international 767s? Seeing that MNL and NRT is gone that would leave HNL and occasionally NOU? Aren't all the NZ routes run by 330's and 737's now?
Yes there would be scheduling issues, but competition is a nice thing. It will be interesting to see if DJ moves the 330 onto the Melbourne Red Eyes once more come online, as you would hope something like that would provide food for thought for the relevant hierarchy at the Red Roo.

I believe HNL and NOU are all that's left. SYD-CHC is now a Jetconnect 738.

Dixons legacy of greed will haunt for ever
Jetstar is the biggest issue why qantas now gets less than half our 500k travel budget.
Managers hate

1.You cant see bookings on both airlines.
2.You cant logon and choose seats
3.The jetstar website is downright unuseable and incredibly slow

Good to hear a review of incompetent management practices and poor fleet purchasing decisions over the last 10 years which has largely contributed towards such challenges has been undertaken.

Sorry, couldn't help myself! :-|

As a MCY based customer I've been forced to use J* (could drive to BNE, but after the first 3 hour traffic jam, stopped doing that) - they really are the pits. I understand why, I understand they compete with lower fixed cost but it's still the pits. How hard is it to clean the floor & seats?

The only consolation I get is when I'm sitting in a F or CCR lounge around the world, drinking & enjoying the good life - thinking the J* endurance isn't that bad after all

I am out of MCY as well and the last couple of times have seen an improvement. To me the JQ site is working better.I like the plus bundle with luggage and standard seat selection thrown in as well as QFF miles and priority boarding which they do well.Have even been on time the last 2 flights!

I've been stuck on a couple of JQ flights of late and both times I've been proactively offered exit row seating. Don't know if this is a coincidence or something more, can JQ staff see your QFF status when they check you in....?

Makes sooo much sense.....has been very frustrating that they never acknowledged status.

Hi. This was actually an error in the enews . Q Streaming is being trialled on a B767-300 as noted on the page you click through too. Sorry.....

Cheers,
Red Roo

haha.. yes... we actually knew that from the beginning :)

perhaps you could look at some of the substantive issues raised such as lounge access at heathrow and report back :)

thanks!

Cant be status as I am QPNB.If by myself I am offered exit row seating. But likely to be type of ticket-I pay the plus fare and usually only 1 or 2 others with priority boarding.

Not sure if it has been reported elsewhere, but if reports on Sky News this morning are correct Qantasia could be canned, due to the current European financial concerns and fears it could spread to Asia.

As opposed to "due to the fact it was a half a**ed ill conceived plan announced before the basic details (like which country it would be in) had been finalised"? Surprise surprise!

I actually just started a separate thread on this - it's been confirmed that the new airline is shelved in favour of a stronger tie-up with MH.

They have to allow for the corporate spin. ;)

Interesting how we know exactly what they were or were not planning and are in a position to fully comment on whether a plan was partly, fully or over baked...

There is the small fact that the European debt crisis is growing and its influence on Asia (and Australian) economies is real and changing.
