Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

LOL fancy serving the same stuff.. Reminds me of good old day.
Re Ginger beer, they carry the small thin bundaberg cans

So who remembers the Ansett hot breakfasts on the SYD CBR jets??? Ahhh the days of a decent breakfast, even I'd it was almost thrown at you.

... PE PAX received tray with Chockie, Cheese, bickies, Trail Mix, Dip & drink ...for PE CBR-SYD @ 5pm ...

I flew SYD-CBR on Sunday at 1705 as a paid PE passenger. Was offered a salsa dip and bread stick thing and juice or water. Asked for a pepsi and was told none on board. Asked for a cheese and crackers and told no option as this was the Canberra connect offering for all passengers at that time of day. Not overly bothered but it makes the value of a PE fare on an E190 seem a bit silly.
Interesting, this is what I was served in PE, seat 2A on Sunday 5pm CBR-SYD on an E170:

It was almost identical to what I was served 6pm on Friday MEL-CBR, in PE seat 1C.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

As I'm sure you've all realised by now, Premium Economy pax receive a flexi tray when travelling on a Capital Connect leg.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

So Meggsy's FA was lying/incompetent?

If the flex tray for PE passengers is correct then this may be the case. I did query him at the time and he told me he had received many complaints from PE passengers over the last couple of days and hoped that VA changed course on this fairly quickly. I'll give the benefit of the doubt for this one as it is a recent initiative but good to see there is apparently an alternative for PE passengers.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

I have to go to CBR on Cup day, leaving MEL 11.20am and returning 8.10pm. I trust I will be offered a complimentary beer or wine on the return leg?

I wouldn't give any benefit of the doubt - I would be contacting Virgin Australia and asking why flights in the air at the same time on the same day travelling between the same ports in opposite directions would have different service for PE PAX.

Won't be flight time; our's was computed at 22 minutes.

At the very least it will make for "a retraining opportunity".

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

Good advice. Thanks Serfty. I will send them a letter to highlight the inconsistencies.

Nope, not saying anyone is lying. Maybe there was an issue onboard which meant an alternative product was delivered to Premium Economy pax. I can't really comment as I wasn't there at the time.

According to the FA, this was not a one off "... he told me he had received many complaints from PE passengers over the last couple of days ...".

If was catered the same try based items MEL-CBR on Friday and CBR-SYD on Sunday, why could they not be provided for SYD-CBR at the same time (or even "the last couple of days").

It does not make sense to me!

Meggsy, I'd e-mail Virgin and let them know that you received that as a PE guest.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

Spoke to CS yesterday 250ml is the standard soft drink now, they fit 40 more on a cart apparantly (Interesting that the price has stayed the same (I know once its all said and done it wont matter, but a bit rude ATM)), and by next year, well, Everybody will get something on every flight (Drink/snack)

I am looking forward to this - it will especially make routes like ADL-DPS much better. Fingers crossed for proper hot dinners :)

My fingers crossed too Noob, but I think we are wasting our time. Regardless, it is a definite change in the right direction, and as they say, some is better than none at all ;)

Done just now. As I said no real problem for me but the feedback will hopefully help to improve the service if nothing else.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

I haven't seen anyone post a pic of the brekky offering yet, so this is what I got on MEL to CBR on an E190 this morning. The cookie was actually pretty nice, but I'm glad I ate in the lounge beforehand.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

And this was the mid-morning (circa 10am) offering CBR to MEL today in case anyone's interested.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

Did you get the option of Coffee as well? Usually done on the second run, but cant really see time for it on that sector.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

Yeah tea, coffee, or juice on the way up, but no hot drinks on the return leg due to predicted turbulence. It is definitely a challenge for the crew though. I was gulping my coffee down on the way up; it seems like you level off for about 10 mins and then start descending. PE pax received flexi-type trays as reported previously.

I can now appreciate why they had to replace the old offering of a tray for flexis, and I guess it doesn't really matter when you can drop into the lounge for pancakes etc beforehand.

Re: Capital connect services Ex CBR

I went on one of the new ATR72s yesterday as part of a little VA status run I had planned. They are SPECTACULAR.

Seriously, I do not have a thing for turboprops, but this little plane was so damn comfortable. The legroom was the best I've had on a domestic flight, and it still had that new plane smell :p

The Skywest crews are extremely good as well. Will definitely look at booking more of them in the future.
