IA supervisor for a large non-Australian multi-national. Fly 2 to 3 times a week and I have two massive trips around the world twice a year. Would love a job that would let me travel once a quarter...

I use to love flying for leisure but not at the moment... most my holidays will be road trips this year... Just absolutely sick of it at the moment, even if many of the this months flights will be in J.

Offshore Crane Operator in Oil & Gas construction. Currently in Bass Strait working on the Kipper, Tuna, Turrum Project.
Work 14 on 14 off so most of my travel is BNE-MEL with occasional flights O/S for training or to pick up barge.
Super Puma flights are a bonus but not looking forward to putting on immersion suit for Winter!

Recently unemployed/retired/no idea whay I want to do.

Travel extensively... Self funded and until recently a big QANTAS fan!

Exploring other options now.

Full-time distance ed student (Media Communication) with no set career path just yet. I'm taking advantage of my courses recent addition to the summer trimester and accelerating my studies, abbreviating it two years.

My travel is purely leisure and I'm 100% loyal to Virgin (and their partners). Also, this will be the third year that I've migrated to work in an American summer camp, which notches up the bulk of my rewards points. I'm hoping to finally make Velocity Silver this year.

Outside of that, I'm part-time in retail (because frankly, I can't stand not working!).

I co-own and run 3 small interrelated companies that are in the IT industry with my husband. One is based here in Australia, one in NZ and the other is Hong Kong based. Most of my travel is for business, most I do with my husband. Travel is mostly in the Asia-Pac region with trips to the US at least once a year and the occasional trip to Europe (leisure).

I still love travel, got the bug when I was really young, and count myself very lucky to have been able to travel us much and as often as I have for work.

Since joining AFF I have learnt so much and just recently qualified WP. Up until very recently all travel was in Y, now managing some paid Y+ as well as points upgrades to J.

Cheers

Gen-Y Project Engineer worked for a multinational manufacturing company.
Most of the work travel will be by road, used to do quite a lot of Melb-Mt. Gambier with REX....
have used the FF rewards with REX mel-syd via a stopover in albury once... =P

Travel for leisure domestically once-twice a year if i can, and once a year international...all in Y... looking to maximise my points in airlines, and hotels

I am an IT Developer for 25+ years in RPG.

I have been commuting SYD-BNE for the past 3 years and all my travel is self funded....

Engineer doing FIFO at a mine site at the moment.

I have wanted to ask a similar question as the OP. I am particularly intrigued, after having looked up a few members' ba97.com flight logs, why some work travellers only spend an hour or less at their destination. I've mainly noticed it on NZ domestic travel. What kind of jobs entail going to a place, then heading back almost before you've had a chance to get out of the airport?

Live organ couriers? Airline seat testers? ;)

I'm based in SYD and do day trips regularly. My least favorite is SYD-PER-SYD with a little over an hours worth of business to take care of in PER. QF575 out and QF582 back makes it a long (but SC worthy) day.

Profession = software.

Former corporate lawyer, now running my own companies facilitating investment between companies in China, Australia and other parts of the world and helping western companies establish their own manufacturing operations in China. Also run a company acquiring projects around the place, developing them up a little then selling.
Travel is pretty much all international averaging 13-14 trips a year (typically to North America, South America, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Africa and Middle East).

Welcome to AFF.And in true AFF spirit will even forgive you for having been a lawyer!:p;)

I am a marine wholesaler (sell boat stuff like rope/plumbing etc).

In the last year and a bit I have been to Boat Shows in Annapolis and visited a supplier in LA. Been to London twice, Ireland, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam.

This year is mostly domestic travel as it is someone else's turn to do the long hauls so I will be visiting most states at least once if not more.

So not only do I get to travel but I also get to go to Boat Shows around the world. All good fun.

Civil engineer, specialist in dams. Now retired, except for special assignments to advise on unusual or problem dams. Down to about 5 overseas trips a year now, so not as much as many of you. But I probably have a more esoteric set of destinations than most with recent visits to Madagascar, Sulawesi, Arctic Canada, Iceland and Central Siberia. Dams find themselves in funny places.

I am a research fellow (a Dr of some sort, with a PhD) and a junior academic at a major University.

3 types of travel: (i) 2-3 international conferences across Asia, Europe and the Americas, with different countries/cities each year depending on the locations picked by the Academies; (ii) research/field work principally in Southeast Asia; and (iii) leisure trips anywhere with the OH and/or visiting families.

So many students!

Like other workers in this post, I'm self-funding conference and training available interstate and overseas. I found it much more enjoyable when family comes along, and looking in AFF for tips on how to manage flights and points.
