Cathay "World of Winners" promo - discounted tickets to Hong Kong

Some excitement for a Monday!

I was in queue 12xx_, however, when they "let me in" it says there are errors and they cannot let me book.

Partner got in from another site, however, December was N/A, no point then as I don't want to travel in low season and have to take unnecessary leave as just one day leave negates any "free" discounts.

Paying $5xx for just a long weekend is just too much.

So I still have my options!

Congrats to anyone who got these tickets for the dates they wanted!

I remember the fare rules say non-refundable!
Not exactly. It says:
"Tickets are non-transferable, non-reroutable and non-exchangeable (taxes and surcharges are refundable)."

And the total amount you paid in the actual tickets are from carrier surcharge and taxes.

Did someone cancel their WoW ticket and got refunded in full?
I also thought its NOT refundable?? and be glad you are NOT going to HK NOW! Who wants to be hostage by the government in this city?! This city is now dead...

Going OT now but I will say I took up the offer expecting it to be like any other city in China (but without having to get a visa). It isn't all to different to other places like Dubai or Doha which are similarly legally dubious and yet we keep visiting for the glitz and glamour. The average Joe doesn't see the other side of the coin either in Hong Kong or in these other places.

YMMV, but benefit of going outweighs the alternative IMO.
