How many miles are they offering you? Did you fly much with CX for the past year??

I don't remember the challenge. I was expecting centurion to clear it up, so paid little attention. I only flew 2 trips to HGK in J.
I will try what was suggested earlier and send in the application form again and will see what happens. Glad i saved it, as i couldn't find it in the benefits section of the website.

maybe i should call them up and see :)

My MP Diamond expires next month and I think its very poor form for amex Centurion to leave their members at $4300 annually in the lurch like this. It is unnaceptable and will make me reconsider membership to Centurion when it comes up shortly!

It was in the lounge access section if someone wants to know. :)

It’s hardly a Centurion issue, I realise how much you’re paying for a CC, but perhaps CX wants more than your annual membership fee, or at least more than the part of your annual membership fee that would cover those benefits. Which benefit that you don’t use (and others might) would you prefer they cut instead?

This offer has only been around for a year, I can see how you’d be mad if you joined specifically for that benefit, but the fine print always said it was a 1 year deal, did it not?

I guess it’s easier in the US, as you just send your points to AA or another program and that gains you status. But the rest of the world is a bit trickier.

Reply from Centurion:

I hope you are well.
I have been informed American Express Travel cannot offer any advice at this point, other than Cathay Pacific will mail each member approaching their expiration date to advise the status of their membership. Therefore all queries should be directed to Cathay’s Marco Polo. Phone contact number is 852 2747 3888.
You can also log in to Cathay Pacific Marco Polo Club and view your account.
Marco Polo

I also spoke to Marco Polo who advised that they will renew memebrship on the basis of their terms and conditions and the requirements for each tier. In my case they will issue me with a green card that will allow me to accumulate the 120,000 miles and when I have acheived this I will be upgraded to Diamond again:(

Can you please confirm whether or not Marco Polo Diamond Membership is included in this years list of Centurion Card complimentary benefits?
I just logged into Marco Polo and it clearly shows my membership will expire on May 31 – can you please advise?
Rgds
Mr Elite

Hi Mr Elite,
I appreciate your concern regarding the Marco Polo Membership renewal, however I’ve been advised that we are still in negotiations with Marco Polo and any updates will be sent directly to the card members.
Cruiser, I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Regards,
ARO

Pissed off - now that I have Select I can do without Cent - this will be the straw for me.

Nothing to explain, seams that the benefit will be extended upon expiry of your current membership, with a card being delivered in 4-6 weeks after. The e-mail i got was from my AMEX rep and not CX.

I hope you have that in writing because their terms are that once you earn 30k you become Silver and reset the tally, then you need 60k for Gold, at which point you’re upgraded and your tally reset, and finally when you earn an additional 120k on that, you’ll become Diamond. That’s 210,000 miles from Green to Diamond.

Excellent news!

Did you fly on CX metal much in the last 12 months?

Be interested to see how it has affected others spending patterns. Has moved some of my business away from SQ, but only about 10%... If it was a permanent benefit I would move more for sure.

No, i only did a couple of J flights to HGK. I was striving to get my UA Million Miler, which i achieved, and will now try and take advantage of Oneworld status over the next year.
