So... if I redeem points and book before March 22, 2016 for travel in let's assume September 2016, then I will pay the old (current) rate.
If my plans change in July 2016, can I rebook the Sept 2016 trip and reschudule it for June 2017?
in other words, I know I want to travel in 2017 to the US in J or F using my AA points, but can I do it with the old rates if I book now and then change the date later, given I cant book seats for 2017 now.?? thanks for your advice/comments.

I'm sure that any date changes would mean that your tickets need to be cancelled and reissued. If that's the case then you'll way new rates.

I'm also pretty sure AA has this covered, similar to when the merger of DM and AA. Any changes will be repriced at the new rates.

I don't think a date change would cause a reprice. Origin/destination, cabin or routing changes likely would.

But you will be limited in date adjustment to a maximum of one year from the date of the original ticketing
Within that time frame, date should (are likely to) be as in the present system.

Happy wandering

I wondered the same thing timmy-t.

Date, Time and Flight changes are free and unlimited (subject to adjustments in taxes).

As long as you are not changing origin, destination or class of travel (or routing changes such as adding stopovers) then you are fine.

Travel must be completed within 12 months of ticketing.

Any change to origin, destination routing changes, class of travel etc will require reticketing which will mean repricing.
