Changes to partner earns on QF

With some "tinkering" I can get the SC calculator to appear, but the valid cities list never make it.

Assumption: QF web system is broken (temporarily ??)

Happy wandering needs a working FF web page.

Just seen that my 3 recent QR flights in economy have earned a glorious total of 0 points and 0 SCs (not that I was expecting much).

I've gone to the earning points calculator to check and it refuses to give me ANY cities to choose from (I'm logged on, etc). Am I doing something wrong? Or are the work experience kids doing overtime?

Edit - and my QF flight (Y, points upgrade to J) MEL-HBA last Friday apparently earned zero points and SCs as well   . Feeling much simplified and fairer.

OK. The zeros for QR are correct - I saw 'Y' on the BPs but it was actually booked in 'N', an ineligible booking class. QFF Plat Line immediately saw the QF credit error and fixed it up.

This is how the 'calculator' is now appearing (1:14pm). You are mucking around with the system, Qantas, during 'business hours'???? Joke!

But you don't need the calculator, that's why QF created 8 simple earning tables. Or maybe it's the other way around?:p

I think that my AFF avatar showing the "Grant mechanical calculating machine" from circa 1877 is spot on!

Considering AJ studied mathematics and physics in a previous life, he must be quite proud of the baffling formula QF came up with for their simpler and fairer system.

Well then he should know that everything should be made as simpler as possible, but not simpler.

Yep, I moved all of my business from Qantas to Virgin & partners a year ago because I was sick of these sorts of "improvements" to the QFF program, lack of award seats, excessive taxes and surcharges etc. I have not looked back. Virgin and the Velocity FF program keeps getting better while Qantas keeps getting worse. The Virgin Business Class seats on flights to and from Perth are EXCELLENT. Qantas needs to pick up its game or it will continue to fall behind Virgin.

has anyone had a chance to ask QFFF why no notice period? (I have no bookings, QF or OW, so don't have much of a leg to stand on if i call.)

Agree and have just booked my trip to KTM next year with Virgin (Etihad) not MH as previously planned. Bugger it, I mean why would I bother with how we as consumers are constantly being devalued by QFF. Time to share the $$ with other service providers I feel.

Well perhaps PER flyers win one (though rater obscure).

CX JNB-HKG-PER and QF JNB-SYD-PER in the PEY/Y+ cabin seem to earn the same SCs when credited to QFF. CX is cheaper.

Happy wandering

No ... Qantas have their own version of Einstein ... "Everything should be as complex as possible, but not more complex ... until the next version of Simpler and Fairer".

Quantum physics is child's play compared to 'simpler & fairer'.

It's also becoming harder to use points. I've recently tried several dates in every month available to book 2x business class flights to Japan or various locations in Europe. Every time at least one major leg of the journey was only available as economy.

Recently completed round the world tour in business with QF, AA, BA, EK and home from Dubai on QF. Planned in enormous details using the status calc before booking in March this year.Asked travel agent to ensure bookings were all oneworld. Nice upgrade to first with BA .Very impressed with the service. QFF stil ldecided to short change the SCs on the NY to London leg by 50 Status credits. If that was enough with the real kicker was the Rome to Dubai leg being short changed 180 SCs because the partner airline booking wasn't directly with QF.. So no Platinum this year if it is up to this pathetic FF program....not happy Jan... :(

I am a touch confused, the number SC's are determined by the flight number you have booked on, not who you have booked with?

I was wondering the same thing. My initial thoughts were that they were booked on an EK flight number. If that's not the case and it was a QF number then SCs should have been awarded.

If you received less than you were entitled to, you are within your rights to request the difference. What did you get exactly and how does it differ from what you should have got?
