Changes to partner earns on QF

Recently completed round the world tour in business with QF, AA, BA, EK and home from Dubai on QF. Planned in enormous details using the status calc before booking in March this year.Asked travel agent to ensure bookings were all oneworld. Nice upgrade to first with BA .Very impressed with the service. QFF stil ldecided to short change the SCs on the NY to London leg by 50 Status credits. If that was enough with the real kicker was the Rome to Dubai leg being short changed 180 SCs because the partner airline booking wasn't directly with QF.. So no Platinum this year if it is up to this pathetic FF program....not happy Jan... :(

I fear that you may have been on an EK flight number from FCO to DXB, so no SC's. :-(

Intrigued by the earn from New York to London though. What happened with the earning there, and who did you fly with. I think that if it was AA or BA in J it should have been 100 SC's.

I'm also confused. When you say RTW - do you mean a DONEx? If so, all sectors would have been with OneWorld partners (ie. an EK sector would not be possible). And what do you mean by the short-changing NY-London? What was the airline and the airports?

A fully-utilised DONEx makes WP re-qual a cinch - I speak from 11 consecutive years' experience ;) - and I would doubt that the recent changes would threaten that.

Sorry to necro this thread - but just hoping to check what the situation is with QR flights with the new table after 1 December 2015?

IIRC when the changes came out earning SCs on QR flights became much harder because earning on flights to/from Doha was reduced and QR flights credited at a lower rate than class of service (F credited as J, J at Flex Y?). But it appears now that the table has changed back? https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#qr

However the calculator hasn't caught up if this is the case - it's showing 30SCs for J for DOH-LHR - anyone have any ideas?

Nice find! Difficult issue.

Theoretically the points tables should be enough to rely on.

The link I'm reading doesn't mention SCs only points

Yes very nice catch - I see MH has also been changed back to normal. Maybe there was a behind the scenes discussion going on?

Anyway if you look here:

https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#partner-airline-earning-table

I see the following for QR from Perth:

Doha
Qantas Points
1,450
2,900
5,800
5,800
5,800
7,250

Status Credits
30
30
60
60
120
180

So 120 SC's and 5,800 points - back to the way it was before the change.

Qantas - this is ridiculously unfair.

MEL - Doha - Business Class 80SCs
PER - Doha - Business Class 120SCs

All I can say is thankfully I reached Lifetime Gold recently - I won't be striving for Platinum - it costs too much and takes to much time.

As a friend of mine said: it doesn't really matter if you are flying business class with whatever airline you'll get lounge access and extra baggage etc etc.

Just be thankful PER is at those rates given the flight competes with a QF codeshare on EK

So QR and MH are back to earning in the class of travel that you actually fly. Good.

Not when I checked a couple of hours ago. Calculator shows MH KUL > SYD on J is still at flexible economy rate.

The other posts state that the tables have changed, the calculator has not.

As per the link in Chrizztofa's post #223, there's no business SC earnings in J for MH KUL > SYD

The tables looks different from a smart phone but nevertheless, the new SCs earnings of J on MH KUL > SYD is 60 SCs instead of the "old J" of 120 SCs
