Re: Chasing the lads in Lycra down the Champs Elysees - and other fancy places to exp

I have reconciled to not getting the flight upgrade on Sunday to Hong Kong from Y+ (I am impatient ;) ) and will instead use the points to book jetstar J back from Honolulu next May. Currently I have three trips in Progress. Life is good. Work is frantic as I tie off all the financials for the business.....Pinged off I would say thirty emails this morning - they will be glad to get rid of me.

Who am I kidding.

Woot

The Adl airport is deserted which can only mean one thing - one of us will be selected for the explosives test. I do the sacrifice and front up. Very pleasant and even MrP walked up to join me in the chatter.

Is this not the best part of any holiday?

The old Proclaimers song is perhaps apt here:

I'm on my way

From misery to happiness today

Enjoy! Waiting for the next instalment :)

Love the Proclaimers.
Unsure if that one or 500 miles is my favourite.

I think the accents get me every time. Love the Scots. Of course I may be biased with my ancestors from Tain.

Re: Chasing the lads in Lycra down the Champs Elysees - and other fancy places to exp

I'm a mix of Welsh and English. Antecedents to the Vikings. Nicely ensconced in the Sports Bar at Rydges watching cricket and Rugby. Not an AFL match in sight. Love the pork sliders at this bar.

Next stop - FLounge for brekky.

This is pretty much what we will be doing on 7 September - will look out for pork sliders :). My kids heritage is a mix of Welsh, English, French, Lebanese and Afrikaans.....

That will be us at Rydges at the end of August but sadly no Flounge. WP days have deserted me.

First check in very busy but finally through. Decided against currency exchange - rates were shocking. Will try in HK.

Mmm. Mumm

Sydney airport a mess due to construction. We left the lounge just after the boarding time but currently unable to proceed to proper departure lounge as the other gate flight hasn't left and there's no space. Multiple "offloading luggage" calls but I think everyone is just a bit lost. Narrow corridors with construction walls. I am thinking Rugby scrum when we can proceed.

Re: Chasing the lads in Lycra down the Champs Elysees - and other fancy places to exp

Have an amazing trip. Looking forward to following along :D

In Singapore - the SQ lounge, again a late night flight so dinner will be nice.

Lovely!

Make sure you use the SilverKris lounge and not the Krisflyer Gold lounge

And was asked if I wanted a third. I declined. :p

You're far more restrained than I ;)

Got that ping you dont want to get when you've been upgraded on boarding. :(.

Phew. They must have moved people around upstairs as that is where we are now. Our original seats are damaged. Upper deck on refurb 747.

Got to love Australia and the mixes it is creating :) No their Lebanese Great grandmother emigrated to South Africa around 1900 when 12 - accompanied an older sister and her husband. French Great grandfather emigrated at same time when he was 22. he saw her coming off the ship and fell in love and followed her around the Transkei until she was 16 when they eloped. I know it sounds creepy, but it seems to have been a very happy marriage! Then the Afrikaans is going back to the 1600s (and goodness knows what the ethnic mixture is there), - staunch Afrikaner, Dutch Reformed family, who were seriously unhappy about their son marrying this Lebanese/French Catholic woman. :) The English Welsh bit is Australian back to the 1800s.

You will be in Hong Kong by the time you read this - happy eating and shopping :)

Yes, arrived safely and now ensconsed in the Club Lounge at Langham Place. This has had a massive facelift Dame. Much more open feel and larger
