CheckMyTrip Update - No more desktop access or ticket numbers

I have also left a scathing app store review on the new update.

May be useful to leave bad reviews there also as more public to future potential users (and spur action from the developers!)

Agree.

Companies are very sensitive to 1 Star review and negative feedback on the App Store.

That’s what forced BEEMIT to get a move on sorting out their bugs.

Suggest anyone affected jump on and do a 1 star review.

Apologies as I would probably find the information if I read through every single post but could a moderator pin a post upfront where alternative apps to CMT are listed now that CMT died? What are these?
As Mr H says there’s simply no like-for-like replacement. I always set up schedule change and aircraft change notifications in Expert Flyer for my award bookings. But there can be a 12-24 hour delay before they ping me. That may be enough time to try and rescue legs before they get auto-cancelled on some OW carriers, and often quicker notification than from QF, even for QF operated flights. But no way to check ticketing status or any of the other details CMT used to have.

I can only guess CMT had some sort of privacy concerns raised, forcing them to pull the simple web interface and refuse to import bookings with a non-matching email address. At least Trip case allows you to add supplementary email addresses to your account…but it doesn’t play nice with Amadeus. It’s the Sabre equivalent I believe but is pretty bare bones. It is however better than VA at notifying flight delays, fwiw…

Your speculation may be correct, but because CMT has failed to give an official reason for the downgrade, we just don't know. I have sent them my feedback, and have uninstalled it.

I just looked at the 50 or so most recent reviews on the Google Play store.

Almost all were 1 star the only variance being a couple of two stars. Nothing more.
A few more on Apple - including mine….

Perhaps. That would, at least, explain why the system has been so badly neutered.

I wonder whether airlines were getting sick of customers being able to spot the lack of tickets and calling up to pester them.

Not the first time. We still miss the “classic” CheckMyTrip website….

How was that different? I have been using CMT since 2007 so maybe I used it and have just forgotten...
Anyone could just chuck in a PNR and surname - a bit like most airline websites still…! 😳

But CMT made us create an account. I actually stopped using it or a while because I thought it had been crippled back then but it was mainly issues with matching registered name and booking name (ie missing middle name could stop full functionality).

Some of the App Store reviews have disappeared including my own. A case of art imitating life?
Curious…
I went to add a review (1 star).
Before I added my review, the review count stood at 1092.
I added my review & received the “Submitted” banner.
The review count remained unchanged at 1092.
I left the App Store, and unloaded the AppStore app.
I re-opened the AppStore, and the CMT review count still remained at 1092.
I repeated the sequence a few more times.
Review count still 1092…
Then I repeated the sequence on my wife’s device.
Review count still 1092…

Horrible reviews on Apple Store. I amended mine from 5 (a while ago) to 1 and in the text stated I couldn't give zero.

The (in)ability to add trips by Amadeus code seems to have been removed. Note the traveler assistant says you have to do it flight by flight.

A review I gave a couple of days ago never appeared. Definitely some sort of moderation of reviews and comments going on
