CheckMyTrip Update - No more desktop access or ticket numbers

There are some slightly telling responses from CMT PR people in response to complaints on their fb page. They vaguely allude to reinstating visibility of eticket numbers, seats, class. So perhaps for the few bookings we can actually get it to import, we will have visibility of important data.

For me the killer is the restriction of PNRs to a single email account. Oh and the chat bot needs to be set alight and never reappear.

Curious…
I went to add a review (1 star).
Before I added my review, the review count stood at 1092.
I added my review & received the “Submitted” banner.
The review count remained unchanged at 1092.
I left the App Store, and unloaded the AppStore app.
I re-opened the AppStore, and the CMT review count still remained at 1092.
I repeated the sequence a few more times.
Review count still 1092…
Then I repeated the sequence on my wife’s device.
Review count still 1092…
It does take some time for a review to appear on the App Store. They are manually reviewed (by Apple, not the app developer). In my experience it usually takes around 24 hours for a review to appear.

You are supposed to only be able to review an app once, so if you go in and edit your review and resubmit it that will just push out the moderation timeframe by another ~24 hours.

My (1 star) review of CMT is still there. Try going to See All > Sort by Most Recent. Plenty of negative ones!

Missing details like e-ticket numbers can be forgiven as merely oversights which can be corrected, but what I am more concerned about is the new app's inability to add PNRs at the request of the airline. This would render the app basically useless for the purposes of the people here on AFF.

I think none of it can be forgiven. Fundamentally, there are three problems:
  1. Missing data fields
  2. Inability to load new itineraries/flights
  3. Lack of real time data updates
Taken together or separately, they render the app useless.

It is as though the CMT people did not understand what their value proposition was. They seem to think it was to provide a pretty dashboard showing lists of booked flights with the destinations being the key feature. That is so wide of the mark. We know where we are flying - we want to know when, where and how. And to see whether our flights are ticketed.

It’s very sad that the app has been crippled in this way - I was a relatively recent convert to checkmytrip, but the app update has rendered it useless. The AI assistant should never have made it out of the test phase!

Same here, I only just recently downloaded the app and have now deleted it since the latest update which made the app into cough.

It's less useful than the Qantas app itself - that's saying something.

I might be wrong but part of the issue of loading PNRs (or not) is a possible mismatch with profile name (in particular middle name, middle initial or just first name).

Fiddling with that allowed to load some PNRs.

But it’s still basically useless cough.

Another 1-star review submitted here on Apple App Store.

Been watching the android play store. It's now sitting at a 4.2 star average. Before the update I believe it was 4.5. might have been higher potentially?

4.7 to 4.6 on Apple but still heading south…

It frustrates me that the Apple App Store displays as default those reviews voted as most helpful rather than recent. The most helpful reviews can be well out of sync with the latest versions as is the case with CMT. To vote a comment as helpful long press on the review. Can we agree one of the recent 1 star reviews to support to try and reset the “most helpful” review?

Agree. A sort by Most Recent reveals the truth. A couple of familiar names too.

Agree. I have voted all the most recent reviews as helpful, and voted the original most helpful reviews as unhelpful.

As you say, long press on the review you want to vote up or down. It is not obvious that this is what you have to do.

Off to post some votes.
