CheckMyTrip Update - No more desktop access or ticket numbers

Anyone else have any other apps that they suggest ?
I also use TripIt (free) and TripCase.

The later is better with Sabre but does recognise Amadeus PNRs and will provide alerts etc. The seat maps for Amadeus can be flaky and no e-Tix info as far as I’m aware.

I use TripIt Pro. Can't recommend it enough.

Different purpose to CMT though, it only knows what you tell it - but then once it comes time to day of departure you'll get notifications of gates, delays, baggage carousel numbers etc - especially good when you're flying multiple airlines and you don't have the individual apps (or they're not very good).

I've been using it since 2013 and it's so handy having a complete record of every trip I've done, all the hotels etc. When someone asks for hotel recommendations and you can't remember where you stayed at a certain city, it's easy to look it up.

The free version is probably good enough, but the amount I spend on travel, the $49 or so is well worth it for the extra features.

To be honest I found CMT pretty useless in the end for anything other than - well - checking my trip (ticket info). I heard others on AFF using it as a travel management app and that would just not work for me - can't add non-Amadeus airlines (eg AA), can't add hotels etc.

It sounds like CMT is going down that road, but I don't think the world needs another one.

After being able to add some but not other trips, I just forwarded the original confirmation emails from my registered CMT email address. All bookings are in with correct details/times (including one booked direct with AA, plus several QF, AS and another AA booked as as QF reward).

When I interrogate the BOT zero have any e-Ticket info and still no sign of a seat map…

Another user of TripIt Pro to store all trip info (incl eTicket nos, PNRs etc) - very good for gate changes; will often show gate changes & delays before the screens in terminals.

I have CMT on my phone, and have looked at it, but for some reason never had the need to rely on it. MMHV, I guess.

The free TripIt will also store eTicket nos but only what you send it. But it’s my primary tool for collating all bits of a trip - both as a record but also for trip planning and execution.

CMT was a handy free tool for alerts/changes etc complementing the operating airline’s own app(s). Be able to confirm a new eTicket number when changes were made seems to be a popular feature here. So was the seatmap but EF can do that - albeit without the “You are here” indication.

I have a multi-airline, multi city trip to the US at the end of the month. I’ll see what if any value CMT provides beyond the native QF/AS apps, TripIt and Tripcase.

One of my flights for next Sunday is still showing on CMT with the correct times - except that it says the flight will be on Saturday. (I checked with the Qantas app and definitely still booked for Sunday!)

Just spotted that the app is now showing dates in a Transatlantic format - i.e. MM/DD.

Just want to agree that this update is a disaster. The app is basically useless now. No seat number, no class of travel, no seat map, no terminal number, and i have a flight in a months time that has been changed by an hour or so and the app isnt reflecting the new flight time.

Who signs off on this stuff? The only thing i can think of is that they will introduce a paid version that will offer all of the info the previous free version used to offer......

I use (free version) for tracking changes which often will alert well before the carrier alerts me, and for following family members flights. Agree over time there’s been a reduction in utility/functionality.

At this point, it wont even open post update so i guess I’ll need to uninstall, reinstall, and if it’s then rubbish (which by all feedback here, it is), i’ll be uninstalling and looking for another app.

Ditto, I have a flight that changed by an hour yesterday. The change is reflected in the desktop version but not the app. I think the app is actually a snapshot of bookings as at some time late last year as it included bookings I have since cancelled and did not include some flights I had added to an existing booking. Plus it is not possible to add new bookings. This is not a real time system at the moment.

I’ve managed to add all my future bookings. A couple via PNR, the rest by email (using the same email addressed registered with CMT). Whether those emailed in ones are “monitored” remains to be seen.

How do unticketed flights show up in e.g. the RJ app? There is only one ticket number down the bottom, do the non ticketed flights just not show up on the PNR at all or? On CMT before each flight number had the same eticket number repeated.

Deleted. Causes more frustration now than anything else. Suicide on the part of the braniac brains trust at CMT.

Anyone out there have an unticketed booking they can try it out with?

I had one earlier this week. 2 sectors on QR booked via a VA award. Second leg had been changed by QR and unbeknownst to me I had to call VA to get it reticketed (QR had notified me of the change, but everything looked fine on their MMB page and I could select seats etc; VA never contacted me to tell me I needed to do anything).

I did check the RJ site while the booking was in the unticketed state, and it looked fine there too. Both sectors showed up and there was the one eticket number at the bottom.

The old CMT was the *only* place where I could see each leg’s eticket number individually and that was ultimately how I found out that the second leg had no eticket number.

Apologies as I would probably find the information if I read through every single post but could a moderator pin a post upfront where alternative apps to CMT are listed now that CMT died? What are these?

I have now lost access to the desktop version of CMT, so decided to try (again) to add the missing trip to the app. Last time I entered the six character code and it told me the airline did not want to use the reservation number. This time I entered the code and it asked me which of my trips I wanted to book a lounge for. It listed sone flights below, including OTP-DOH-IKA with the wrong departure time and a picture of the Golden Temple in Amritsar. My actual flight to Amritsar has no picture at all. Still no luck adding in the missing flight and my OWA still shows only two of the none flights.

Feeling very depressed...

I just noticed that the app on different devices don’t seem to be in sync. My iPad had all flights loaded but my iPhone has a subset…

I updated my full name on the phone and that recovered some more but not all.
