China - never a dull moment!

Oops, did you get it back? Or gone to heaven?
Nope she is a gonna mate - losing a phone I can live with but losing my 3D Marilyn phone cover has me totally heart broken. I searched PEK from one end to tother last visit but alas could not find a suitable replacement for my beloved Mazza cover - I found identical cover that fits iPhone 5 but nothing for 6+.

According to my Chinas in China original Uber App already lost ability for payment via foreign CCs and original App will be killed off completely next week. You can download new Chinese Uber App but it is only in Chinese as is DiDi the parent co. and payments can only be made via Ali Pay or WeChat so no foreign CCs at all - oh so typically Chinese

So foreigners no longer can use ride-sharing services in China then. That's just dumb. What are we meant to do?

Either not enough revenue from foreigners to support maintaining foreign cards and English language customer support (likely) - or there's a plan to differentiate the pricing between local and foreigner customers - that might charge a multiple (4x?) of local price through a foreigner app (less likely?)

DiDi who are swallowing Uber have never had an English interface or acceptance of foreign CCs within their App - they now own Uber China and they clearly have no interest in the infinitecimally small foreign component - that's life.

Very typical, and some of the big players are getting jack of it:

Foreigners can still use ride sharing services, they just need to be able to read Chinese and have Alipay/WeChat wallet set up. No different to how many other services in Anglophone countries need users to be literate in English and use a credit card. I'm a foreigner in China and can ride share just fine.

Both our two main girls in China got married/pregnant this year so they won't be taking part!
