China - never a dull moment!

Where can you get a good steak in Shanghai.? Tried a few places but found them a bit tough.
Maureen 'good' can have many slants - if you mean 'good' purely on quality of product served then several of the top line steak restaurants will provide that - but at prohibitive prices.

If you want 'good' as in acceptable for price I have a couple of go to places where you can get a 200gr eye fillet for around $60 or a 300gr porterhouse for about same. Irish Bar on Jiujiang Lu right across from Le Meridien at Peoples Square is my go to for Nanjing Lu (Huangpu) area or The Blind Pig (was Big Bamboo) on Nanyang Lu in Jing'an area.

But TBH steak in China grossly overpriced and hard to find acceptable - IMHO

I’ve been to the Blind Pig a few times but haven’t tried the steak. Will give it a try. I’ll try the others you suggested as well. Thanks

Blind Pig has changed completely since rebadged from Big Bamboo - menu totally changed - in all honesty Big Bamboo used to do a steak sandwich which I had like 100 times but it was deleted from menu when rebadged as Bog Bamboo - Australian guys owned Big Bamboo and I think they still hold the reins at Blind Pig - but not sure.

TBH the whole bar has gone downhill last 6mths or so - I would suggest totally a result of menu change. Maureen I will check with the FT Shanghai WeChat group and see what I can find in way of latest intel for you. I am back there in 3 weeks anyway so need start doing some planning.

I do have a slight leaning to Windows Garage on West Nanjing Lu - total dive and full of western kids - but Qingdaos ice cold and food so cheap - easy place for me to grab something easy, quick and cheap if flying solo.
