Good location. Google Maps indicates a 25 minute walk to the chosen restaurant.

I've stayed on the east side of the park directly across the park from that location. Amross Court Motor Lodge, never mind walking, it's stumbling distance from the restaurant . I can recommend it, though like much of New Zealand's accommodation it is more akin to a motel or inn as opposed to a "hotel" per se.

Well TomVexille and I now have our flights booked. MEL-SYD-CHC on the Friday and CHC-BNE-MEL on the Sunday. Interestingly, the CHC-BNE flight is Qantas operated rather than Jetconnect.

Need to figure out some flights as at least one way will be on Emirates.
