Was thinking about this again yesterday and if Chicka and Samh004 are attending good chance I will be there as well, still Gold but looking more platinumish.

Need to figure out some flights as at least one way will be on Emirates.

It'll just be chicka, I'm staying home that weekend

Bit the bullet and booked something so I guess my attendance is moving from Gold to Platinum.

Flying in on QF8766 (Op. by EK) on the 10th and have a tentative booking at Ibis Christchurch (Can't justify the Novotel at just shy of $300 per night, though If I rack enough LeCLub points between now and March [likely] I might switch)

I have the three pillars of "can I attend an AFF event": money, award tickets, and vacation time. I've gone from 0 of 3, to 1 of 3 now. When I hit 2 of 3 I will be Gold, 3 of 3 will be Platinum .

Qantas has very kindly shifted our 4pm flight to 6am Sunday...me thinks thats not a great idea right off the back of dinner so will be arranging an alternative with them :shock:

I just moved my Sunday flight to Monday 13th at stupid o'clock (0615). Reasonably happy as I can still be at work by 0900 ish.

"We have cancelled your flight but for your convenience we have rebooked you on the 6am flight" - which was most likely always bookable and you did not want to depart at that time or you would have booked it in the first place.

No, same flight number. QF have had a bit of a flight shuffle that included the addition of a MEL-CHC-MEL, and moving the CHC-BNE flight to 6am.
