Citi cards - major changes

Ok thanks. I’ve never used it. Do you just present the Citi card or do we need to get Citibank to send us the vouchers?

PP send me their own card every year. I seem to remember I had to apply for it separately. Its send via PP in Hong Kong. Mine is not a "fee free for life" one though, I have to pay for my signature card.

PP will send you their card. Won’t say it’s 2 visit limit on it and they will bill your Citi card if you exceed the 2 visits. It’s a nice perk for a free card. Only lounge I’ve ever used it at is in Fiji which I understand has recently been upgraded.

You need to contact Citi to get a code to register with PP. Then you get a PP card sent out to you, to use as often as you like BUT; only the first TWO visits for YOU are free. All guests and all subsequent visits are charged at US$27 approx.

So I paid Water bill....did not get points...rang them and good will gesture got points credit for bill.
Now Power, Gas and Telephone all fine but even though water company not Government(They have it listed as Government) be warned.....pointshack only said RATES ie Council!

PP just sent me my annual renewal and that clearly indicated that only the first 2 visits were free.

Despite having PP for many years I have never used it. First time will be in June when I will look to use it at Newcastle Airport in the UK.

I think that after that I might cancel my free for life Signature as there are probably more points to be had by churning new Citi offers, which holding this card prevents me from currently benefiting from, as I never use this card for actual spend now.

I have also cancelled my free for life signature card. The PP is the only remaining benefit and I also hardly use it, I don't fly in Y much anymore these days.
Come July this year all banks have to meet the comprehensive credit reporting requirements so any limits you may have open could effect your chances of being approved for new cards.

The report I read on this development (from an extremely unreliable and disreputable source that sounds a bit like news.com.au) was suggesting that large unused credit limits would start to count negatively against your credit score come July this year. However it also said these changes would only affect the big four banks, so presumably cards not issued by the big four banks would be immune from such unnecessary persecution.

Being as how the story came from such a worthless outlet though, I think the right strategy is to wait and see.

The new reporting system will report your limit (Note: NOT balance) on all credit being reported to the bureaus. This means the bureaus will put this information in your credit report. Because its limit not balance, am not sure how credit providers will use this information but yes it is likely that large existing limits will have a negative impact (though the scale of how negative this is being yet to be determined).

For those who suggest this is not fair, responsible lending laws mean the banks etc. must take into account your ability to pay, even if you aren't using your limit you have it available to be used. I certainly will be watching my score closely and reducing limits and/or cancelling cards if I feel this helps.

PS. I think you will find smaller lenders will come on board, this legislation is in their favour which is why the big 4 have had to be dragged to the table.

Hi all, has anybody tried to upgrade their free Signature card to the Prestige, keeping if fee free?

Citi must be hurting - they just waived the $395 renewal on Signature for my son, who spends less than 15k a year on the card. Obviously their recent points enhancements have been repaid with multiple desertions.
For me, I havent used the prestige for 4 months - not a cent! Keeping it for unlimited PP and free hotel.

It's now unlimited earn per month for signature right even though poor rate?
