This may be a stupid question but are the repayments automatically debited from somewhere and if so where? The same account that the funds were sent to? Just trying to work out whether I need to do anything here or just sit back and wait for them to request my velocity number.

It is all very unclear and I am worried that the penalty for getting it wrong is to lose the points. I have been making manual repayments and making one small purchase each month to make sure I don’t accidentally pay the whole thing off,

Go into the app and click on stuff. You will find a heap of things, sometimes unclear and sometimes contradictory. Really, don't overthink it. Just make sure you don't accidentally pay off the whole loan and wait for the points.

Weird. I applied on the 20th, was approved on the 26th, Welcome Pack on the 27th and card on the 30th (activated card on the 3rd after I returned from travelling interstate). Might be time for you to contact Citibank

Same here for the card, though I got the welcome pack the day after approval - I'm wary of ordering a new card though in case it takes the same amount of time to get to me and then I end up outside the activation window for the points.

The card arrived yesterday, activated it via the app.

I assume they now transfer the $2k into that account, and i then transfer out into my bank account, wait a few days then transfer back say $1800 to Citi.

It gets transferred into the account that you specified when you applied (if you can remember that far back).

I made manual payments using BSB and Account Numbers. No idea about the instalments - whether they came out or whether they would have come out if I hadn't made manual payments. I suspect this would have been a difficult product to actually manage as a proper loan.
