Well that was pretty quick. Received an email before 9AM today saying application rejected. The following generic list of reasons provided:
"Factors that we consider in our assessment may include (but are not limited to):
(i) Your ability to repay credit based on your total income
(ii) Your existing debts, expenses and other commitments
(iii) The security of your employment
(iv) Your credit history including previous bankruptcy, defaults, serious credit infringements, high number of credit applications and unsatisfactory repayment history
(v) Your credit score - this is a figure we calculate that indicates your likelihood of repaying the credit you applied for, and includes elements of all the information listed above; and
(vi) Other eligibility requirements for the product."
The only relevant issue that I can see is this one "high number of credit applications".
So looks like Citi is now cracking down on churners.
