Card Offers Citi Prestige Credit Card Offer: 250,000 Citi Rewards Points

Might give it a try. Not due til December though. The recent change to the hotel benefit makes it far less appealing, and the airport transfer is pretty much useless in Sydney.

Has anyone managed to get a discount on the second year annual fee?
I got 50% off for about 3 years in a row up to 2021, when I dropped the card. 400k pa spend.
Not sure about now but wouldn't bother anyway. Mrs D is only keeping the card until PP runs out next year. points earn is hopeless..

When you did get the 50% off, I assume you requested this before you were charged the fee?

2nd and subsequent years. After fee posted. Threatened to close account. Then I just said "I've always had the half fee. Look at my history"
Eventually, it wasn't even worth 350

Has anyone tried to use this service to transfer points to Cathay Pacific Avios? The web site says that it may take up to a whopping 28 days!! However, if I compare it to the experience of other AFFers who transferred to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Miles, it took about a day and a half. Just in time to secure a held reward seat. I wonder if the Cathay Pacific transfers have a similar timeframe?

For me it took less a day to transfer miles to Cathay Asia Miles

Thanks everyone in this thread! My second fee posted which I paid last month. I called up and complained about some benefits being amended or removed, requested a 50% reduction in annual fee and the lady said yes. $350 will be reduced on my next bill

What specific benefits did you quote?

I was pretty generic; closure of associated diners card, amendment of hotel choices for 4th night free and how that's paid, payall features and ongoing devaluations since being acquired by NAB.

Have received an email from Citibank that I was given a 50% discount on the annual fee of my Prestige. Did anyone get the same email? Email subject line is "Half of your Annual Fee is on us!"

I haven't received this e-mail, and I've held my card for approximately 9-10 months.

Mine is due for renewal in February. I'd like to keep it but not sure I can be convinved to do so at the full rate. I'll try my luck and call them in January to see if they'll offer a discount. Thanks for the data point.

Gee the 20000 point minimum to transfer to SQ is annoying. Closing card and have about 8000 points and no good value of using them

any update on the annual fee waiver/discount?? I suspect many of us are coming due, I don't mind the card but psychologically struggling with the $700 fee proposition lol

Yeah 700 is hard to justify without any bonus points this time, when you can just cancel and resign again in 3 months to get the bonus points again
