Citibank 70,000 QFF points $149 annual fee first year 0% BT for 6 months

I wanted to take advantage of both the balance transfer and the reward points. Unfortunately the balance transfer does not count as a contribution to the minimum spend for the reward points. FYI. So I would do the minimum spend first, then apply for the balance transfer.

Filled in the app and had a call the next day asking for more information about my pay. Supplied and "in review" for a few days. Got my letter today - declined.
Did they give the reason for the decline i.e. servibilitiy?

After all that - here is a link that appears to work:

Qantas

I'll give it a go this afternoon, making sure to screen shot everything, and we'll see how we go.

When I follow the link above it shows the Citi Qantas Signature Credit Card.
With the reduced annual fee of $99 in the first year ($395 normally) + $49 Citi Qantas Rewards Program fee.

When I follow the apply link it shows the Citibank Rewards Credit Card - Signature?

Is this correct? It doesn't mention the word Qantas or the offer anywhere.

Thanks
Craig

Usually the 0% balance transfer is only available at card application. In the past, to get around the minimum spend with Macquarie backed cards, I've applied for the BT during the application and when I make a purchase towards the minimum spend, I Bpay that exact same amount off the card on the same day. This has allowed me to make the most of the BT and get bonus points without paying any interest. I can't vouch that this method works for citi issued cards though.

Wow this was impressive. Filled out the application online.
1 minute later got a phone call to verify some details. Spoke for about 5 minutes.
Was then transferred to a supervisor to confirm that the operator had verified my details.
1 minute later got an approval email.

I currently have a Citibank Plus account ....... which I only add money into when I'm going overseas. (fee free withdrawals) so I guess this helped with identifying me.

I hadn't even sent them payslip copies.

Happy Citibank customer.

i already have two cb signature cards but not one on the qantas program. is there a limit of how many same type cards you can have with citibank? i could only get one priority pass as they wouldnt let me register both cards. has any citigold clients manage to get the $99 annual fee waived after signing up for this deal and still qualify for the 70k points?

I just applied and the application is now processing but I was never asked for Qantas FF number during the application. Is this normal?

Yes, you need to ring Citibank before you activate the card.
Tell them you want the Rewards linked to your Qantas account.
Also check with the operator that they have your offer listed.
There is a $49 fee to link the card with QFF.

It's normal.

The Citibank application is very poor. After you receive your card you'll have to call Citibank and tell them that you want to join the QFF scheme. Make sure you record the person's name and the time of the call and get a reference number for this. As it frequently occurs that they never actually record your registration correctly.

Jacques, how did you go? Did you end up getting the points?

I also have a CBG and was thinking of applying for this. I rang citibank and they said I was considered a "new cards customer" for the purposes of this promotion as I didn't already have a Citi Qantas Signature card. But I was planning to can the CBG by Nov (when it renews) anyway so maybe I should just do so first anyway?

I've sent you a PM

I just applied and said I use to be a Citi customer in Jan '16 and he said that was fine, you can be a current customer or a brand new customer. And that it doesn't matter for this offer.

Hi Gents,

I have applied for this card, approved and got my first statement on 25th of August 2016. I had called the customer care and opt in for Qantas points direct earn. How long normally the points take to land up in the QFF account? With ANZ in the past, the points used to appear on the same day of the monthly statement. Thanks in advance.

Regards
Jose

My points have the same posting date as the statement.

Anyone knows when to expect the 70k bonus points?

What happens if you dont link with QFF. Can you still earn citi points?

Yes, you get reward points with Citi but they don't tranfer to QFF, and if you do link with QFF, you forfeit the current citi points you've got and they start the points again, transferring over automatiically to QFF.

Yes, at the end of the min $3000 spend in the first 90 days, so I'd expect the first statement after that. Source: I rang and asked.

Just received my second statement which pushed me over the $3000 spend and it shows the 70k on it. They also have been credited to my QF account. Overall very good experience!
