What am I missing as I cannot see where this mentions the expiry date.

It is there. On the RHS, there is a scroll box showing the T&Cs. Scroll down. See the image I posted earlier in this thread for better explanation.

How can we fax this page? it's patchy, everything is everywhere. From the header, from the layout it's so obvious it's not amex website. Are we sure amex will not challenge this cache?

So what, it's clearly an Amex webpage!

It's Amex everywhere and has Amex all over it, Amex Amex Amex

I really don't know what else you want. Yes it's from a cache/copy version of the website but it's still the official website.

Amex have told me twice I am in the promotion still til 30th of June on the phone and that's good enough for me.

If they want the printout, you have a good enough copy of the webpage

I just copied the amex promo box from AFF into a Word document (using Paste Special) and saved it for later. :)

Go find your own version. I'm sure you saved one ... didn't you?

Why not refer to my earlier post where I posted this:

Amex_Promo.jpg

That's close enough.

If not - then just don't bother at all. Give up, let Amex get away with their shonkiness, and don't earn the points you're entitled to.

BTW, Why is a BING cache any more dodgy than a locally saved page? I could hack together a page that has incorrect T&C's.

HA ha ha - I was going to say this exact same thing but decided to be nice for a change...

Just had a phone call from American Express - I was called because there was an internal bulletin sent around this morning about it - the bulletin acknowledges that there was a problem with the website showing an incorrect end date for the promotion, which was never intended, but for those that have provided evidence with the screen shot, they WILL honour the promotion until 30th June. However, the bonus points that they honour under the promotion will no longer be automatic, as they will have to be manually backdated, so they will take 6-8 weeks.

You HAVE to fax them through a copy of the screenshot - thanks have to go to Mal for providing it here.

Just called AMEX after my last transaction didn't post bonus points (have had a bit of a pause on the txns, and couldn't call until I had evidence of an issue) expecting to have to fax the screen shot. Was put on hold while they looked up the situation, which suggests to me that it is somewhat dynamic, and the method for dealing with calls is changing.

Didn't get a request for faxing evidence, or even any attempt to suggest the promo was over but rather was told that the T&Cs were supposed to have had it ended, but were put up incorrectly and now they are proactively looking for the transactions, manually posting the points, it will take 6-8 weeks (as per T&Cs) and no escalation was required.

Maybe they have seen enough copies of the faxed T&Cs to no longer need any more copies .

I rang Amex about another matter, and was told without any delay that the **** Smith promo was meant to finish earlier but the wrong date (30th June) was posted on the website. They will now do monthly manual reviews of all the cards that were registered for the promo (I was told they had a spread sheet listing all those registered for the promo), and that it will take 6-8 weeks now for the bonus pts to post. So I have to now think about how many (total value really) Wish Cards I really want to buy before 30th June:shock:

Sounds good then :)

As I have said a few times, I am sitting back until the end of June and will see what has and has not posted.

As it's tax time a few big purchases will occur at **** Smith :)

Wow, some sense and sanity prevails? Or is it today's version of sense and sanity ... and tomorrow there will be a rethink?

Anyway, great to know things are back on track, and I'm glad I could do my bit to assist the cause.

I have been away for a few weeks and have missed all the fun.

Are the points for this promotion still posting for some or is everyone suspended until further notice?

Bonus points have stopped posting but apparantly the promotion is still running.

You need to call Amex and talk to them about it.

I had a purchase on the weekend, no bonus points, so it was a phone call and they are sorting it out..

HA - Just like my phone call 4 weeks ago to them with a call back due 3 weeks ago

:shock::p

Don't hold your breath

No bonus points posting for me either.

I still do laugh when I remember those pathetic letters from Amex with that promotion.... That was such great customer service right there.

As per other comments, points stopped posting mid-March.

Ring Amex, and be told the promo is going to 30th June

You may or may not need to threaten them with a screenshot (I have a copy if needed)

Expect no points to post and expect to follow them up again in a few months.

I am interested to know the first person to receive bonus points again from this promo.

Sounds like a lot of effort to try and get the bonus points.

I have had a good run with this promotion and will more than likely call it quits for now but will keep my eye on this thread until 30 June to see if anything has changed.
