Yes I know but the guy said I am, we are all, still eligible for the $5/$1 under the current bonus partner but that limit is $2,000 which is quite a lot.

If I have time I shall try a $150 transction this week and see how things go.

I think he was confusing it with the Harvey Normal $2000 min spend....

I think he was confusing it with the Harvey Normal $2000 min spend....
Perhaps.

He had a look at my promotions and apparently the promotion I registered for back in Novermber expired December 2010.

Now we did go through my transcations on 11 March 2011 and these were ~$580 and ~$600 and both are well short of the $2000 minimum and both received the bonus points.

Well I am still confused. How many times do I have to call to confirm I am on the promotion until the end of June 2011?

I contact Amex today 'cos my DS bonus points are not posted as well. The customer service representative admins they are aware of the issue, however affected card members must contact them individually to resurrect bonus point posting, as their system won't be able to resolve the problem automatically.

Perhaps they need a better IT department..

Bought a TV from DSE yesterday so chased up the bonus points with Amex, said they can't find the promotion. But want me to fax the T&Cs through to them. Didn't admit that they were aware of the issue.

Also asked about the 20,000 bonus pts for platinum edge cards - Told 6-8weeks end of this month.

That's now 3 different answers from 3 different people regarding the 20,000pts

1) Called mid-Feb... Should have been posted already will be end of month. Didn't happen.

2) Called start of march - Escalted to marketing department. Confirmed elgible etc 8-10 weeks from date of call.

3) 10minutes ago - 6-8 weeks from end of this month.

While I appreciate all their help it can't be that hard to just post the points can it?!?

See my other thread for their ongoing issues with bonus points.

I am continuing to buy products from **** Smith, which are not getting the 5x bonus points, and will chase them up early July as I can't be bothered ringing again.

My missing DSE bonus points have just been posted. Off to purchase some more wish cards now...:D

No points here, but I am still buying products at **** Smith. I am still enrolled according to two people on the phone.

I rang Amex this morning to chase up my missing bonus points. The CSR told me that the promotion I signed up for ended on 15 March. He was reading details of the offer from my file and the wording of the offer etc was as per the original with the exception of the end date. Naturally I told him that the end date is incorrect and I have information showing it closing at the end of June. I offered to send it through to him, but he didn't want it! He said he would forward my query to the marketing dept  and promised to call me back. I then asked him why bonus points for my purchase in Feb had not been awarded as even though we disagreed about the end date of the promotion, these purchases were clearly within the eligibility period. I got the standard response .... points can take 6 - 8 weeks to post.
So, still awaiting a call back and keeping an eye on the reward points in the interim. I did emphasise that I had further purchases to make at DSE and would like to do so with my Amex, but if the promotion wasn't honoured I would use other means of payment.

It happened to me as well recently, my first DSE bonus points showed up immediately after I made the purchase but the second without any luck. Will waint 8 weeks and see.

You won't get a call back

I am approaching 2 weeks and counting!!!!! Was promised in 5-7 working days.

As I have ranted before, I was told by 2 reps that I am enrolled in the promo still til the 30th of June as per my printout.

I am continuing to spend as per normal at **** Smith and will chase up the points in June/July

I'm certainly not holding my breath waiting for the phone call. ;)

Good to hear that you have had your end date confirmed, but as I was told my enrolment finished on 15 March I won't be spending any more in DSE on Amex. If they change my end date I will start spending again.

Yes but they only confirmed it when I said I had a screen shot of the promotion end date.

Points are not posting either

What Amex or any company says on the phone is usually a guess/wrong/mis-information

Just had a phone call from American Express - I was called because there was an internal bulletin sent around this morning about it - the bulletin acknowledges that there was a problem with the website showing an incorrect end date for the promotion, which was never intended, but for those that have provided evidence with the screen shot, they WILL honour the promotion until 30th June. However, the bonus points that they honour under the promotion will no longer be automatic, as they will have to be manually backdated, so they will take 6-8 weeks.

You HAVE to fax them through a copy of the screenshot - thanks have to go to Mal for providing it here. But this is the best indication that you will have your points honoured. Not sure why they need the screenshot - surely if enough people send them a screenshot it is evidence that it probably existed and wasn't a one-off, but that's the rules they've set. Anyone who is waiting for points, go call American Express again and refer to the internal memo that was released on 31st March 2011.

So I was all ready to fax off proof to Amex but the bing cache link didn't work.

Is there some other way??

I don't know if I should laugh or cry, but I will  as this does sound like good news and a real story...

I am surprised you received a call back as I never did!
