Thanks, but I guess before I jump up and down anymore, the T&C's do say 8-10 weeks for bonus points to appear.........

True, however they were previously posting immediately, there was no delay. When I and others have made enquiries to AMEX we haven't been told to wait 8 - 10 weeks, but that the promo has finished. I wouldn't hold out much hope that the points will show up in 8 - 10 weeks. :-|

yes it looks like the bonus points arent posting automatically straight away like before. i made a purchase on 18/03/2011 at **** SMITH for $88.00 88 but 0 bonus points now. i was planning on buying a laptop at DSE soon. I might have to call AMEX to confirm if you still get bonus points at DSE or not? however i think i printed out the T&C it said june 30 2011 so hopefully they havent pulled the plug yet?

Yep not expecting them, but Amex will get a call in early June and I'll be getting my points :p

The T&C's said 30th June.

I have also been looking at a new laptop as a gift for the girlfriend. However now I'll probably be shopping elsewhere

A shame they're not posting immediately now. I was just starting to get on the giftcard train too!

i got off the phone with MR and they said it ended on March 15th and if i had a copy of the terms i would need to fax them a copy. At the moment I cant find where i saved a copy of the terms and conditions of the offer on my computer. if anyone printed a copy out can you please upload a copy for everyone or pm me?

I have asked a few times and I don't think anyone has a screen shot :( But the T&C's are here:

I am waiting 8-10 weeks til after I have finished spending all my purchases at **** Smith actually so I'll buy the new laptop for the girlfriend and a mate and then worry about it.

Amex have given me bonus points before for stuff ups so this time should be the same.. Maybe..

Amex Bonus Rewards | Partner - **** SMITH

Get it while it lasts!! Now the issue is that a printout won't show the T&Cs properly. I'll keep working on that!

I hope all works out OK but the last line in the terms and conditions is the key point here and I am not sure how anyone can get past it.

Basically Amex and D!ck Smith have said play our game until we decide to call it quits. And now they have called it quits....

Yes I know and I said that a few post back, but a small T&C like that with no notice is not acceptable!

Yesterday I asked about the bonus points on this promo and specifically asked if the promo had ended. The person was not able to find anything to say the promo was finished.

They also mentioned the 8 week thing but couldn't really explain the difference with points posting immediately.

Courts like situations where someone is treated unfairly by being promised one thing and then given another or having it taken away in the terms and conditions, as does the ACCC. If the promotion says it ends on a set date then it needs to end on that date unless there is an unforeseen issue or mistake, being too popular is not something that is likely to fit into that category and trying to end a promotion on that basis would likely fall foul of the misleading and deceptive conduct provisions of the TPA.

Maybe DS have pulled the promo themselves (although this does not seem to protect Amex from having to cough up the points)

Has anyone else actually called Amex? To confirm that the promotion had ended. We all know how we get different answers each time so maybe it's not ended and points are just delayed..?

Of course I'm too busy to call, but not too busy to post ;)

In AMEX's defence there seemed to be some problems at the end of the week through to the weekend where transactions weren't posting, or have come through out of order. There may be other shenanigans going on and bonus DSE points not coming through.

When I spoke with a consultant yesterday afternoon he advised he would look into the points not posting for me. He could see transactions in the previous months, and didn't say that the promo had ended.

Yes (as mentioned a few posts back) I specifically asked if the promotion had ended. The person couldn't find anything to say it had ended. However, they asked about the date listed on the card I was sent and mentioned that different people had different dates. I signed up based on the website link that said 30 June. But if anyone did get a card you might wish to check if that has a date.

They seemed to have trouble finding the expiry date in the notes they had but did seem to have the other T&C. They first mentioned the 8 week wait and couldn't explain the change from posting immediately. They said to call back in 8 weeks if the points don't appear.

They also mentioned the possibility of a points cap. Does anyone recall a cap?

I didn't get my question resolved as I'd actually rung about the bonus points and asked about DSE as a second question. After going through the above it all got too hard and the CSR sort of finished the call by going back to the bonus points question and saying that they had fixed that.
