Yeh but all these promos ask for your card number!

Some promos are locked to your card (Woolworths $50 voucher) was one of them. This one was linked to your MR account (you had to go to the "special offer page" and use the code DSMITH5X

Ah yes!!! Again I forgot how I registered for the promo!

So any card on your MR account will do!!!!

Great

I was doing some shopping at Big W today using a WISH voucher purchased at **** Smith with this promotion.

I saw a huge variety of gift vouchers you can purchase at Big W and thought that the WISH vouchers could have greater flexibility than just Woolworth group stores. You can buy hoyts, event cinema, theme park, playstation network, itunes and other vouchers at Big W.

The most interesting one is a prepaid mastercard that costs $3.95 to activate and loadable with maximum of $1000. I didn't have time to read all the terms and conditions, but face value is that you can earn 6 points/$1 you spend at places that accept mastercard. I haven't seen this card at **** Smith though.

I wonder if the following makes sense?
1. buying $1000 WISH voucher at **** Smith
2. buying $3.95 at BIG W and then loading prepaid mastercard with remaining $996.05
3. end up with a debit/credit card that earns 6MR points /$1 for a fee of ~$4 (also accepted in more places than the amex that bought it)

what do others think about this?

Note that you cannot use a pre-paid Mastercard for payment at Woolworths! Then again, you can just use the DSE or Wosh card for that.

I'm looking for the 6 points per dollar spend on the prepaid mastercard...

I was sent an offer for one of the $9.95 cards with the incentive of getting a 2 for 1 movie pass, but again don't recall bonus points on use.

You cannot do it.

You can only load with EFTPOS or cash
They will not accept Giftcards..and yes I tried despite the T&C in about week one of the DSE promo.

So you cant even charge it with a credit card? It would have been a good way to earn 3 points at places other than supermarkets.

Okay I had been buying products from **** Smith every few days and bonus points had been posting fine.

My last 2 transactions over the past week have received no 5 x bonus points

Does anyone please please have a screenshot of the offer where the expiry date is 30th June ?

Have others seen the 5 x bonus points go on the the account after the standard MR points have posted ?

:shock::evil::-|

I am hoping that the T&C's that I do remember were "Please allow 8 to 10 weeks for Bonus Points to be credited to your account."

The only thing concrete I have is a brochure from late October indicating the requirement for online registration with an expiry date of 31st December 2010.

I do remember seing a 2011 expiry date online however.

Last bonus point earning/eligible transaction for me was 9th March.

I purchased a ****Smith Wish card on 17 March with Amex card - promotional bonus points have not been an issue until this transaction on 17/3. Phoned Amex today as promotional points have not been issued (usual 1.5 point had) and I was advised that promotion finished on 15 March - where was that posted and advised to Amex cardholders?? I was of the belief that this promotion ran until some time in June - copy of original T&C would be of great help to me and many others.

There are quite a lot of us seeking a copy of the T&Cs, however to date no one seems to have found a copy. Interestingly the reason given by Amex for points not posting keeps changes  - if the promotion ended on 15 March, then I should have received points for my purchases in Feb.

It serves as a reminder to all of us to take a screen dump of any promotions signed up to.

Indeed - Sounds like another case of a phone monkey making up something to get the customer off the phone and onto the next person.

I normally do take a screen dump, but the T&C's are listed at the Ozbargain website, I don't like the last line........

Interesting to note that points did stop posting for me after the 15th!

I have a transaction on the 7th March then the 16th of March and 17th March

No bonus for the 16th & 17th transactions

I will wait the 8-10 weeks and continue to spend all my $ at **** Smith as per my new routine.

Will call them 1st of June to chase up!

A transaction I made at D ick Smith on 8th March did not post with the bonus points:shock:. I haven't purchased any more Wish Cards at this point as I have quite a few lying around now:(

Yesterday morning I purchased a $50 wish card from Dick Smith.

I'll see how it posts.

Thanks, but I guess before I jump up and down anymore, the T&C's do say 8-10 weeks for bonus points to appear.........

BUT

Strange they have stopped posting immediately as of the 15th
