Coke Zero -> Coca-Cola No Sugar

Had the discussion at work and one of the guys thought Pepsi max was the full sugar Pepsi..... maybe the comments about Coke zero are correct

Current Woolworths special is 72 cans of Pepsi Max for $30 and if spending > $50 there's free delivery.

Have ordered 3 boxes x 24 cans for Brisbane and 3 boxes x 24 cans for Sydney.

We've done a taste test in the welsh-kiwi household and the results were:

1. Pepsi
2. Coke Classic
3. Coke no sugar

Coke No Sugar had a different, and noticeable aftertaste.

Well done on the taste test.

Were diet-coke and coke-zero featured in the testing?

Was the taste test a double blind?.

First person does not take part in taste test prepares 3 cups of each marked A,B,C and puts 3 pieces of paper marked A,B,C into hat.
Second person (tester) does not take part in taste test is blinded to which brand is in which cup conducts the "Pepsi Challenge" and writes down the result as 1,2,3 - 1 being best, 2 average 3 worst

Subject draws letter out of hats and tastes in order the letter is drawn

This is a double blind because the tester and subject are both blinded. So if completely random, the results would then be:

A1,B2,C3
A2,B3,C1
A3,B1,C2

ie no difference between the brands.

The null hypothesis is that there is no difference.
Then you test to see if there is a difference

The most 1 = best
the most 2 = average
The most 3 = worst

Try this to see if there is a difference in your household.

I notice they added "Classic" to Coke again.

I wonder how long before they reintroduce Coke Zero, as Coke Zero "Classic".

Well done on the taste test.

It was an interesting test as Miss W-K (8yrs) had never tested Pepsi or Coke No Sugar and only had a small bit of Classic Coke at a party last year. At the time of purchase I could not find small bottles of Diet Coke or Coke Zero.

Just tried my first Coke No Sugar. If they don't bring back Zero, back to Pepsi Max for me.

I think it tastes closer to fat Coke than diet or zero. Still prefer zero and would consider max if zero goes

That's not good. Detest it when companies think they know better what the consumer wants.

Clearly not enough consumers were buying Coke Zero so they changed it. Companies follow the consumer and in this case the consumer said no.

Well, like I said before it seems very popular on planes and on Asian cruises and Asia generally where it's Light. But tastes the same. It's the only time I've bought regular supplies of a coke product. It is both adult sons favourite soft drink. Sometimes it isn't about the consumer at all but it's easy for companies to use that as the excuse.

Many guys wouldn't drink Diet Coke simply because of the word Diet. A woman asked me in a supermarket whether to buy Diet or Zero and I advised her Zero or guys wouldn't drink the Diet version and the Zero version had a taste more akin to Coke.

The no sugar version sort of tastes like Coke but has a funny after taste like a fatty taste with less fizz.

A friend tried Coke No Sugar today and reported that it's exactly the same as Coke Zero. I wasn't going to spend $5 to find out.

Their is a difference between ingredients list in No Sugar and Zero. No Sugar has no preservative and "flavour" has been listed in a different order. Flavour seems to have no explanation.

Ingredients may not be the same but is convinced they taste the same. And he is someone who is very picky.

Woolies won't stock C-NS saying not enough shelf space.

Makes you wonder what's going on behind the scenes between Woolies and Coca-Cola....err what am I saying, actually it doesn't really Woolies just want more cash out of the deal!!
