Coles gift card offers

the barcode on the bottom of the package of these coles mastercards seems to be linekd specifically to the card in the package,

so that means that if the package is gone or the cards are swapped out (intentionally or not) if you pay for the card, then you could have a dud card .....

unlikely to happen but food for thought

Coles registers can clearly recognise purchases of giftcards as it doesnt pay VA status credits and wont let you use Flybuys$
I suspect if the machine wont accept GCs to buy GCs, mixing it up with other items wont help

I wonder if its just when you want a gift card on its own VS buying them with other products.

As I posted earlier it makes no difference.

As soon as the gift card is scanned the terminal stops working till an operator intervenes. It does not matter f you have already scanned items or not. It is the act of scanning the GC that caused the terminal to lock till an operator intervenes.

So if the terminal you go to use has this programming you will not be able to buy the GC with a GC/eGC unless your can get the operator to approve. They are not meant to, but as with many things CSRs will sometimes do what they are not meant to.

If you are to pay via Credit Card the transaction will be approved. If you want to pay with a GC or eGC the CSRs are not meant to allow it.

Yesterday! Visa1 one attempt at Self service split payment

Edit: Maybe "assistant" did NOT attempt MANUAL payment option via placing number in the machine...instead expecting automatic?
But when attempted just spat out ERROR

Am i reading this correctly ,

"Collect 2000 BONUSflybuys points when youspend $30 or more onColes Mastercard, BestRestaurants, Dymocksand freedom Gift Cards, and swipe your flybuyscard at checkout."

So i could use my Amex Explorer to earn 2 points per $ to pay for this $30 Coles Mastercard with $5 activation fee total = $35 and received 2000 Bonus Points( $10 ) by scanning my flybuys card .

Effectively paying $25 to get $30 value Coles Master Card to use some whereelse not accepting AMEX . too bad they have only once per household rules

Is it one per each card per household ie buy Coles, Dymocks, and Freedom and receive 6,000 points, or would I receive only 2,000?

Is this a general offer or targeted offer including the CMCGC?
My understanding was there is a coles MC offer but it's targeted and for the first time ever like many other members I haven't been targeted.

There is a catalogue offer to buy ONE coles MC to get the one lot of 2000 points.

The offer to buy multiple cards was targeted (and I did not get it)

Thanks for clarifying. Might go buy my ONE card at local coles on way home assuming they haven't already been cleaned out :)
