Me too. I have limited opportunities for points earn.
Unfortunately my LC Coles store rarely has any advertised pre paid visa or mc.
I have asked another Coles to hold for me.
3 points per $ on edge still worthwhile for me.

Sorry, no idea if you can use Coles Myer gift card to buy any other gift card at Kmart, Coles, Myer, Target, Officeworks, etc.
Also, don't know about splitting.

If you are LC at your local Coles - you are essentially LC at every Coles if you are happy to use Coles Myer gift cards.
That's what I do when my local store doesn't have the gift cards on offer in stock

No idea you could use Coles Myer cards for pre paid visa or mc at Coles.

I could have tried today when I purchased these cards on my PE. I even had a Coles Myer card with me!

I just opened one of my $100 prepaid Coles Mastercard Giftcards and realised that I've been scammed. Inside is an unissued Coles Group and Myer Gift Card that is very very well glued in.

So peeps, check the packaging carefully. Be warned!

May the perpetrator trip on the concrete every time he/she thinks about walking to Coles.

Would this not have shown up when you scanned it? Does a gift card not scan differently to a Mastercard. Ie. it shows up differently on the docket? And even if it was the wrong card surely you've now just purchased a $100 gift card rather than a $100 Mastercard?

The Coles Mastercard does not have a window that shows the barcode on the actual giftcard. It's the long barcode on the packaging that gets scanned. That's the flaw.

Only way I can see this could be avoided is to open the gift card package immediately after purchase and deal with the problem then.

Worry not I had the same issue few months back. Make a call to Coles Financial team, they will organise a refund. Basically free CC points in the end for your troubles of making a few calls and sending an email with receipt and photo.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, they were not able to help as I could not produce the receipt that's associated with that particular gift card. I normally keep the receipt until the card is used, but for whatever reason, I must have thrown it away. So lesson learned.

Was it using a CC? Try going back to the Coles store to ask copy of receipt?

Yes by CC but I can't work out when I actually bought the card.
