Coles gift card offers

I picked up $2000 in 4 $500 Coles gift cards thru an AFFer. When I realized it had cost him 1% Amex fee I felt it was fair to recoup that cost seeing he was only getting 2 points per dollar. Five per cent off is the target but I was ok getting 4% with an e delivery seeing I didn't need to print off many $50 e gift cards.
We shop mostly at our local IGA , a greengrocer and a butcher in the next suburb.

hey thanks for that
do they take amex payment though for the giftcard's?

No. But you said you wanted 'easy'. You're now trying to make it hard!

So be it:

Purchase prepaid Mastercards/Visa cards like the current VISA ONE Woolworths offers with your AMEX and use these to purchase the discounted AGL available gift cards.

Hard is good gives us all a good challenge  I can wash those visa cards easily enough like ATO. I need to start with my amex buying the coles myer/ officeworks cards.

Shame there is usually limits like this on these deals at Coles. Recent Woolworths Visa 1 card deal has been great with no limits :)

is there a way to convert coles gift cards to a visa1/eftpos card to be able to pay bills at self serve at Post office
there are heaps of places offering 5% off on coles cards

Dont do it. And dont tell us the result.

T&C's states You can not use a gift card to purchase a gift card. END of discussion.

*taps finger on nose

Spoon feeding people will cause issues such as woolies enforcing the 10 limit per person deal. Esp when it is told to public and ozbargained. :!:

Not sure if this is the best place to post this news. Looks like Coles (Indue) have stopped selling prepaid MCs online. Only card left in their product range is the $50 & $100 card that can be bought in store that we all know and love.

It's more than that:

I wonder why they have stopped the reloadable card..been abused too much,?

With VPay etc the card will have been hammered recently. The rush of people then also trying to get cash out at ATM's may have been the final nail in the coffin.

They make money from ongoing fees and unused balance etc and probably lose money when MS is moved through the card quickly.

And with MS shut down, they might have realised how few people use the card day to day...

It's a shame there is so much paranoia around money laundering - I'm sure that was partly to blame outside of any MS on the reloadable card. I'm sure I wasn't alone in using the online MC to pay ATO with legitimately earned cash. Might be showing my naivety on this but can't imagine anyone using dirty money to pay the ATO.
I'm sure it didn't help Indue's business case that there'd be very little chance a customer paying ATO would forget to spend all the money on their card and thus forfeit it on expiry which in addition to the $5 fee would have been the business case.
RIP to a good product.
