A few stores I went to seemed very well stocked as of 3hrs ago. How long that lasts is anyones guess though.

I was first into my local Coles this morning and grabbed 5x $250 cards. There was quite a lot of stock on the shelves but given 3 other people also took 5 within the first few minutes of opening that won’t last. I’m going back at lunch for an actual real shop and expect everything to be gone.

First 2 stores only had $100 cards visible. Next one had $250s and was allowed to take 2 batches of 5 by asking nicely. Store 4 only had $100s. All very hot on scam warnings

One cashier said that, with the public holiday, deliveries have been later than usual so may be opportunities later in week

Does one earn regular fly buy points for buying these coles gift cards cards ? Is there any point scanning your flybuys card ?

On the positive side you do earn 1 FB point as per normal spending and they do count as spend for VA status credits.

On the negative side they do not count towards any FB spend targets but they will dramatically increase future spend targets.

I don’t scan my FB card as for me the negatives vastly outweigh the positives.

For those looking for cards be prepared to travel and spend the time looking. I've been extremely successful today in getting cards at 6 different stores and I even have my partner looking for them whilst she is at a conference in another state.

For sure! The Flybuys card I used for the last deal like this hasn't come back to even remotely palatable point offerings. I wont be making the same mistake again.

Found some more in a couple of other shops and have grabbed them. Have found a couple of times now that the 5th card is being declined. Unsure why. The full charge is accepted on the credit card but only 4 of the 5 gift cards are activating. Staff are currently on the phone trying to sort it out.

When I bought some the sales person said they had to split the purchase into 2 transactions to avoid problems. So they processed 3 cards then 2 cards.

I did some like that too. Had one lot of 5 with the issue I described yesterday morning. Then a other last night with no issue. Now same issue here this morning. I will split any further sets I get.

The staff could not sort out the issue over the phone but suggested that as the terminal had fully charged my credit card the gift card should be active. This turned out to be correct as I just bought a coffee with the “declined” card.
