Coles gift card offers

Saw this one come up the other day on Ozbargain. These don’t have a PIN number from memory right? So requires signing which attracts more attention. Unlikely that I will go as hard on these as I did with the Coles Gift MCs last year.

Yes, no PIN. Online use may be the go.

Well that's what Ozbargain says.....I rang Coles customer support and they had no idea as not in other states catalogues..... stores I visited had no cards and where not aware of promotion occurring.... I'm not in NSW..... all previous show on catalogue ie. Coles Mastercard or eftpos card gift promos...

*I hope I'm wrong but odds are I'm not.

Picked up two $250 cards from my local Coles in NSW, there were none on display yesterday but this morning there were at least 100 on the rack. Purchased at around 0800, checked the www.vanillabalance.com website when I got home but they haven't been activated yet. The packaging says could be up to 24 hours. The folks on ozbargain.com.au and saying they've got the same delayed activation. I didn't buy more than two as I want to check that they work on the website for the kid's school. I know that the Coles prepaid Mastercards work, but haven't tried these Vanilla ones on there before.

Purchased some earlier today. These are taking a few hours to activate.

All of the cards that I purchased have now been spent.

I'm off to look for some more.
Mine from 8AM were activated around 1PM. Went out and bought some more at around 1:30PM. One store I went to only had $100 ones left, the other had a whole rack of $250 ones and they were topping them up when I got there.

For me: Purchased 9.36am. Activated 1.37pm.

I couldn't use the Vanilla visa card online at First Choice just now. Activated and full balance intact.

Someone on OzBargain mentioned having to get address details added by customer service in order to use some online stores.

I didn't have any problem using it for school bills, but that was only asking for card number, expiry and CVC.

Re Vanilla gift cards:

Purchased a $250 Coles/Myer gift card at Liquoroland today. Had to sign. No issues.

Purchased a $250 WISH card at Woolworths today. Didn't have to sign. Payment just accepted.
