Confirming that I am a scratching from the F Lounge run :(:(:(

The lack of cheap seats on JQ35 makes it hard to justify (about $600 minimum including positioning flight). And I have just had an offer for a game of golf on Saturday morning on the Mornington Peninsula.
...
Played golf at Mornington on Sunday - overrated if you ask me :p :shock:

Which course? Don't you live just a few miles up the road?

I agree that F-Lounging is more fun than golf, but also more expensive

Mornington - yes a 20 minute drive.

Dunno 'bout the cost - how much are golf balls?

(I had 19 points front nine, 8 on the way back :-|)

Depends how many you loose?
Actually I am playing much better than last time we played (although that isn't hard). We should have another AFF golf day. :p

Alas, I digress... Normally I would agree with you, but normally JQ35 doesn't sell out. :(

Golf - overrated if you ask me!
In 1998 I had an epiphany. This was after realising I was not quite fitting in economy seats - parts of me were trying to relocate themselves into neighboring seats on sitting down. I began to covet those seats where the armrests lift up.

Regular golf made a real difference after a few months; especially given my lack of ability ensured frequent non linear navigation of the fairways ...

Anyway, back OT - I hope to arrive at MEL ~6:45 am Sat.

I hope the crew of JQ35 aren't a noshow for work on Sat as heaps of cabin crew didn't turn up for work today resulting in 5 flight cancellations ex BNE, not sure how many flights Australia wide were affected. Apparently some crew aren't happy with the conditions of the latest EBA.

Well as long as they don't cancel the flight before the day.. i'm not fussed if they cancel it at 14:00 as i will had my Flounge....

Last year - it was so nice of the JQ check in staff to offer me a direct flight from the domestic terminal. Naturally I politely declined ;)

They can no show.....AFTER we're safely in the F lounge :)

Why didn't this outfit make the news? And is it justifiable (albeit there seemed to be little publicly blurted notice) that they could just no-show?

I suppose some decided to just cash some sick leave - that's an easy way out.

Things we need to pray for on Saturday:
  • No JQ35 no-show
  • Decent weather in BNE so we can get out of there...on time
  • Power to Sydney airport

Anything else?

QF8 doesn't get side tracked to Nadi; or Auckland or Noumea. :-|

It seems that if all goes to plan I will be the first to make the First lounge. I'll be arriving on the overnight flight from PER, scheduled to arrive at 6.20am. I'm now well-versed on the important steps to take to ensure I get my JQ boarding pass, preferably from PER the night before but if not at the SYD T3 transfer desk or, worse case, JQ or QF at T1.

Is there anything I need to do? Should I try to put up some kind of banner: "Qantas welcomes AFF members commiserating the demise of Platinum anytime access. Thanks for your loyalty!"?

Anyway, I'll have my iPad so I'll post my movements (and what I'm wearing, thereby hopefully preventing a repeat of "Hey, Danger. Over here" from the last meet) on the day.

Danger don't forget T2 QP as an option for a BP.

Sent from my iPhone using Aust Freq Fly app so please excuse the lack of links.

Aren't JQ35 flights mostly overseas based FAs these days? So hopefully not an issue.

Guys - how does one get from T3 to T2?

Sorry if it's a silly question - but never done it.

There is a tunnel between the two that serves as the train station access, so follow the signs to the train and just head to T2 rather than taking a left in the tunnel to go down to the station.
