The best thing is you have choices and you choose what you see/like/want. On the other hand you may choose to drink rather than eat.

I spent 4 hours in the Sydney Qantas Domestic lounge last Friday. I sat near the food to the left as you enter where it has the large magazine rack and the self serve coffee machine with the lollies and biscuits. During those 4 hours I did my own little poll of how many people ACTUALLY use the tongs provided. Women I am pleased to say always used the tongs. Men it was 50/50. One guy, opened the allsorts jar, shoved his hand in to pull out his desired colour then put it in his mouth, and put his hand back into the jar to get another of his desired colours - that went straight into his mouth too. His coffee was now ready so he got another two allsorts and put those on his saucer !!

I think that studies also show that those same people go to the toilet and don't wash their hands. Then, they come out and put those hands all over the food.

You'd sort of expect that business from all-sorts eaters, right?

The raspberry lollies crowd demonstrate so much more savoir-faire.

Of course, the iced vo-vo set are gods that walk among us.
