Yes, I know the Crown v republican debate is alive and well in Australia, and I am not wanting to stir that up unnecessarily. However the Palace has announced the date for the Coronation, and by an interesting coincidence I have already booked to be in London at the time. Anyone else likely to be there for this significant event?

I booked accommodation in London yesterday just in case the coronation was around end of May and our Airbnb would have been cancelled and a higher rate negotiated. Given our logistics we didn't want it to be then so was pleased it was this date. On that day we will be cruising on the Arabian Sea.

Also heard yesterday that Eurovision is in Liverpool in early May as well.

Fortunately our cruise around the Mediterranean ends in late May as well. We will be in London for the Chelsea Flower show then.

We fly in to LHR late March, and home to OZ a few days after the coronation. Our accommodation is Airbnb up to mid April, then to France, and back to London end of April. Luckily the late April until we depart accommodation is at my daughter's home so will be fine from that angle.

When is the Flower Show next year? Maybe we will bump into each other in the Med 😂

Edit. Just bought two tickets for Saturday 27th.

Back to topic. Camilla will be crowned as Queen as well.

We are going to the flower show on 23/5 and head home on 25/5,

Queen? Or Queen Consort..?
She is currently Queen Consort and have read that she will be crowned Queen when Charles is crowned King. His decision. Guess that will be confirmed - or not - in the fullness of time. But maybe I misinterpreted that and she will simply be crowned - Queen Consort as you say. Wonder if that means she can wear the wonderful tiaras of the Queen in that case.

Though she might officially be the Queen Consort she will be known by most as Queen Camilla.
This goes way back. Anne Bolelyn for example was crowned after Henry V111's Coronation naturally and was crowned with the Crown of St Edward which normally is for the reigning Monarch.

Many Queen Consorts are not crowned. The last 4 wives of Henry V111 were not crowned.

My younger daughter is due to fly in to London from Faro around the 29/4 so I have piled on the pressure to ensure she has a booking for the 4 of them, as that is the weekend before the coronation.

Was that just due to a lack of time? Or was the crown being damaged, repeatedly hitting the ground?
Only 1 of the last 4 lost her head.
Personally i think he liked his consorts to have as little on as possible. ;)
