Not at the supermarkets I frequent. And at Costco, when don't shoppers here have full trollies?

I think it is more that hand sanitiser has a run on.

I just had a chat with my local IGA supermarket here in regional WA. Even normally we would only shop weekly or fortnightly but we are trying to stay in self isolation as much as possible so only intend going in when essential.

I noticed on their website that they are doing deliveries but assumed it was around town then read a bit further and discovered they are delivering out of town.

I rang to check for our address and yes they can deliver once a week - Tuesdays only. Given we are 35kms from town and 5 kms up a gravel road I am quite impressed. Even more so when I check the minimum spend ($30) and the delivery charge ($0 - yes no charge at all) I also got to chat with the delivery driver who said he would come to our front door or anywhere and we decided to save him a bit of time by meeting him at the highway 5kms down so no gravel. He will ring when he is about 15 minutes away.

So the prices in the shop have definitely gone up lately but no more than the bigger shops in the larger regional town further away plus I don't even have to do the 30 minute drive in and then again home. This IGA is one of the best in the state as well. How good is that?

And me too, yesterday! Kind of. Being a life long consultant / contractor, I always provision for a rainy day. So right now that's what I'm doing, using that provision. Hopefully I won't need to go down the path of joining the dole queue although I know of a few colleagues who have. The UK GOV really screwed the self employed.

Drove past Adelaide Fire Station this afternnon and there was a fire in the rubbish bin right next to the station. Had this impulse to call triple 000 until I saw three firies just standing there watching it. I wondered if they were doing some research.

They may have removed limits but at my local they have still not got any stock of Vinegar (the white kind for cleaning), my preferred laundry liquid (am very sensitive to some of the perfumes so there is only two brands I use). There is still no toilet paper, no tissues, no anttbacterial wipes (only useless baby wipes), no liquid soap (except Pears brand), no hand santiser, no pasta on the shelves - just easter eggs in the spot where they should be. Apprently if you want TP or Tissues you have to luck being in store when they personally hand out a few packets each day.

I keep reading that things have normalised but that doesnt appear to be the case in the inner suburbs of Sydney based on my and friends experiences (all living within 8kms of the CBD).

I still think they need to use the data they have to allow those of us who have not bought any of these items in last couple of months first dibs.

Checked in at the local Coles after having my venesection today.only liquid soap was 1 dispenser of dettol hand wash.it was hidden under a jumble of empty boxes.Win.
