Costco - Products, Prices and Deals

This is indeed the problem with Costco. My wife just went there recently to buy things because they were cheap but ended up spending $480, not convinced this was all required spend.

And I thought it was only my wife that did that...

I have so far resisted the temptation to go to Costco.
My last experience was Alaska about 20 odd years ago.
I drive past when going to appointments on the Sunshine Coast. Maybe I should risk it.

Very common. But it is why you should hold hands with your wife when shopping other wise she can get the CC out too easily.
Now I will be in trouble!

Its MrNatalie that needs to be watched in this household! He sneaks there at lunchtime.

I received an annual summary of my US Amex and there was Costco sitting at number one in retail purchases for the year. I guess it isn't just the Kirkland choc coated macadamias.

Get a pic of the condenser heat pump dryer and Atlantic salmon unsmoked please!

The more I see these specials, the less reason I have to get a membership again. Coles/Woolies are doing $8 chickens 'everyday' now. Petrol is below 98cpl in many places (as of yesterday I saw some around 97c and it's 93c with discount on Kings Way in Melbourne this morning, which is an expensive station). Savings in bulk may apply to big families, but definitely not worth it for a single/couple household IMHO.

In the USA though absolutely. The liquor alone makes it worthwhile (not that liquor is generally expensive in the states, but the massive bottles of premium liquor are substantially cheaper than the local grocery stores or BevMo's in CA).

That said, the muffins at Costco are dangerous ;)

My local Coles in Tassie are doing the $8- BBQ chook but Woolies are not. (Yet)
Definitely seen it at Coles (and seem to recall someone mentioning Woolies).

If Costco is forcing prices down, i'm all for them staying around though :) I'm always cooking for one, so it means lots of small shops.
