If I want to buy the 52cm spinner on it's own any suggestions best place to look?

It looks like you can only get the " Movelite" at Costco or Amazon and it is a set of 2.

Have a look at Luggage Direct - we have used them several times.

Samsonite Luggage Range | Luggage Direct

we currently like the 72 hour range - we have the cabin bag at present and will probably get the larger bags.

Had the pork sliders tonight - the Asian variety (soft dumpling and sweet/sour pickle) - yummy indeed. Another $350 spend for things I didn't know I needed. Big jar of sesame snaps which are expensive in the duopoly. Some IT stuff. A few tshirts for me. Can highly recommend the $23 business shirts. Great quality cotton and holds the ironed look. Also bought the premium petrol @$1.11 a litre. Its nice the way someone is always there to help me pack.

The two pounds of Sees chocolates at work are going off quickly. That US deal gets them for about $28 rather than $38.

Good mrs it appears 72hr spinner only has 1 external pocket - is that correct? I suffer badly from OCD and must have 2 external zippered pockets - 1 smaller one on top - 1 larger on bottom.

Yes Cruiser, it does have TWO external zippered pockets, it has one large one on the front of the bag 45cm x 35 ( the full size of the front of the bag) and a smaller one on the side of the bag at the top 25 x 18 that has mesh on the sides to expand out, ( but you don't see the mesh - only when unzipped ) and would take a kindle, passport, phone etc.

You can see the small pocket in this photo -

the larger front pocket does hold a good amount of "flat" stuff

This is indeed the problem with Costco. My wife just went there recently to buy things because they were cheap but ended up spending $480, not convinced this was all required spend.

And with the internet in general!!

More and more these days I force myself to think "Do I really need this item" and "How much would I actually use it"

It is just so easy these days to come across some amazing bargains, which at the end of the day are not because you do not really need them.

Disclosure: Yes I confess, I still buy some "bargains' that I should not! Sometimes it is the male in me that just loves "gadgets".

Well, I know what you are saying, but as we bought bulk toilet paper, soaps, dishwasher tablets, toothpaste and deodorant I think we are pretty safe. And these are the kinds of items that cost $$$ in a weekly shop. The clothing - didnt buy anything that wasn't already on a 'list to buy'. But it is the confectionery items that add up.
I do wish we had more storage at home.

Whenever we have left Costco the trolley has been stacked so high i can't see over the top of it! We also stock up on a lot of the non-perishables. We end up with so much stuff that it looks like we are stockpiling in case of an apocalypse! :D

Funnily enough, that was exactly what I spent there last week. But the bulk of it was for five pairs of pyjamas and some pairs of pants for my wife. That will save me money down the track, especially as hse had been having trouble finding pyjamas she liked in the more expensive ranges in other stores.

I must say though, I now have a new reason to go to Costco.

Their $3.50 hot meat pies are very tasty and very meaty - best value ones sold anywhere in this area.
And their pork hot dog and nearly a litre of soft drink for $1.99 just cannot be beaten.
Regards,
Renato

We joined on the weekend and including the membership fee spent $450 :( A lot of the stuff was high value goods though (seafood etc). I like it! Really liked the beef bulgogi and the cheese pizza they had. Some of the Fruit and veg isn't that good though, bananas and carrots etc.

AT $1.99 you'd have to wonder how much "pork" there really is in that hot dog!

Well, who knows? It does taste like nice pork though - it doesn't have that icky pork smell that one sometimes gets from some types of bacon (I have to cremate the bacon to ultra crisp on the BBQ to get rid of that smell).

Also, with the hot dog, you can then go put whatever sauce that you like on it (as much as you want) and grind onions onto it as well.

Renato

One small but important thing about Costco membership.
If you join and then don't get there for a while and you membership lapses they simply renew it at the checkout and the renewal is from the current date not from the date it lapsed.

Thanks for the heads up on the luggage CruiserElite, picked these up at Costco a couple of days ago, in blue. They were almost sold out at Moorabbin when I went there. Just paid more than that for one good TravelPro suitcase through Macy's online (on clearance) but I thought these were excellent value and we always need more cases!
